So, back to the original post. Sorry for hijacking the thread mayday... Over the net it is tough to tell, obviously it is easier to determine the quality when you have them in hand. With all the mags out there I would not settle for one with any obvious problems such as rust, bent feed lips, a stuck or sticky follower, a stiff or sloppy spring, or a baseplate that looks like to was dropped from the empire state building. The mags are easy enough to take apart so if you have them in hand pop off the baseplate and inspect the mag inside and out for the things listed above. I have come ac

How about determining if they are pre-ban--for those who live in a state like NY where pre-ban hi-caps are ok. I have never seen a date stamp on any AK mags so your input is valued.

What is funny is I was having a debate...very one-sided, my side. The topic was right along these same lines and I used examples that were close to the models presented above. The only difference was where you say woman, I said Illegal Undocumented-Working Leeching Immigrant. The state of Rhode Island is having some serious budget woes and shortfalls. I do not doubt that years and years of us catering to the illegal populas has finally taken a toll on our state economy. The states solution??? Lower the income tax but tax everything...club memberships, dry cleaning, dog grooming, food,

When I lived down in Nassau County I went to a guy on the South Shore at T&T Gunnery. Right off Rt135 the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway on Merrick Road/Ave? Marty was his name, nice guy. That is where I got my saiga. It was in the 280 range IIRC.

WHATS IN YOUR "ZOMBIE" SURVIVAL KIT
moxie1c replied to edelweiss's topic in Saiga Weapons - General Discussion
Nice, very nice. I lived in the Catskills of NY for a long time....surrounded by those religious lands. Great place to be. It looks like you are using texture 1-11 (T1-11) siding on your cabin there. Be warned--if you don't know already. The porcupines up there Love to chew on that stuff. I think they are attracted to the glue in it. I ended up going down to the local sawmill and getting some rough cut wood on the cheap and re-did all of our buildings with it. Yeah...and hit the porcupines over the head with a shovel whenever I saw them. Porcupines are like zombies, they can strike you onc -
Hey LEO's (and others who carry for work)
moxie1c replied to Juggernaut's topic in Other Weapons - HANDGUNS
Private company work and I carry my Smith and Wesson M&P 40cal in a Blackhawk holster. Yes, I have heard about the recall and some of the complaints about the Blackhawk, but truth be told it is perfect for me. -
any registered AR15.com forum folks?
moxie1c replied to dancapostagno's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I tried joining that dotcom but it would not allow me to use my email address at Gmail cause it said it was an anonymous email address. My mind was quickly made up on that dotcom too. -
That really does look fantastic! How is that rear sling mount? I like the location of it.

I hope that I am not speaking out of line for Tony at Tromix, but here is an email conversation the two of us had. I might be moving to NY within the year and do not want to thread my barrel. Sometimes you do not know until you ask.... QUOTE ME Tony, I love your Shark Brake more than anything else but I do not want to chop and thread my barrell. Do you have any plans to release a brake that would fit over the existing "sleeve" of a Saiga barrell. It would be nice to have something that could be pinned and soldered onto the rifle. Take your time responding...lol, it is not like I have

changing butt stocks
moxie1c replied to vtslateman's topic in Conversions and Modifications for the Saiga firearms
An underfolder will require an extra part to 'make it work', or extensive metal work on the rifle to install it as it was meant to be. I totally grasp the concept of that part you need. To clarify, I was trying to ask if anyone knew of an American underfolding stock. -

What about an underfolder...that is if you can find a US underfolding stock. -
So, I was looking at Ironwood a while ago and I am going to use their stocks cause I love the wood and I want to have some fun with RIT Dye. Now, on this page: http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/2aprod/1zAKproduct.html They list the different types of receivers. Which one is the Saiga? The MAK Stamped Straight Cut or the Egyptian/Maadi/Romanian/Hungarian stamped straight cut. Any suggestions for making a "camo" pattern with the RIT Dye? I want to do something similar to the way that Boyds does his 10/22 stocks. I am thinking that patience, a steady hand and dyeing grain-by-grain and col

moxie1c replied to Aloxite's topic in Saiga Weapons - General Discussion
I like that, I like it a lot. Would you have any advice or direction on doing that pattern in a fashion and color similar to woodland camouflage? -
long island , and i saw a web site selling 30 round mag for saiga, but then again not legal in ny , i guess it's just another way for me to tell my wife that i need a 30 rounder and buy a real ak47 hehehe... i like my saiga with 10 rounds mag it looks cool with the mag clamp..thanks for the response guys TnT Gunnery (The best shop on Long Island) of Seaford in Nassau County always has plenty of 30-round pre ban mags. Barrel Threading Tutorial
moxie1c replied to Cobra 76 two's topic in Conversions and Modifications for the Saiga firearms
I suspect that you only put a minor cut into the barrel. If so, my experience with dies is that they can and will cleanup those little imperfections in the metal. Blender, you should get lucky and not have any trouble with it. -

I agree with the sticky! Everything finally made a lot more sense when I had this infront of me and at once I knew I was on "a mission from God" to post it here.
