  1. Most Bullpups I fire two handed and centered in my chest for R2R type distances. This short a firearm would help minimize flagging. There is a whole different Manual of Arms when it comes to handling a Bullpup!
  2. I am glad that you are back and well on the road to recovery. Godspeed!
  3. Normal? No way! It looking like you were lucky enough to get one of the deluxe models!
  4. You know if this is how we treat our friends and vendors, I have to wonder how we should treat our enemies!
  5. Sigh.... I thought that the 7x's was some super dirty porn!
  6. Good plan, I like it. There has been very obious mode of conduct for several here. If someone posts something they don't like, they start some fight to have it hidden away in Fight Club. I am glad to see that a counter plan has been implemented.
  7. So something said on a television show, that is what you think legally qualifies as an "admission." You may know a lot about cannons, but I have serious doubts about your ability to comment meaningfully on the law.
  8. Mud will do that! I have seen quite a few over the years where someone stuck the barrel down in mud and then pulled the trigger. It seemed that every gunshop had one of display when I was a kid. They then just fit them with a Cutts Comp and choke if that would be long enough to bring them back up to legal length.
  9. Those guys are missing the point, SoG is a TV Program, it is not a training film. I bet that they are a hoot to watch a movie with....not. This kind of behavior is strictly motivated by childlike jealousy. I never expected it to be the real, day to day life of a custom gun smith! Most of the time that would make paint drying look exciting! As to complaints that people here are biased toward SoG and do not want to hear their silly assed commentary on each episode, well Will is a friend of the board and one of us, what the hell would you expect?

    Body Armor

Not as nasty as a 3" hole in your chest. There is a lot of blunt force trauma when being struck with any round. I have been hit twice on different occasions, neither time stopped me. Once with a .45 ACP and once with a .38 Spl +P. While neither round was a rifle round, they got my attention. It felt like someone had hit me with a hammer and caused a lot of deep bruising, they were also concerned about blood clots forming. One hit has left me with a lifelong injury, but I am here to tell about it. The weight is something that you train for, I wear a 45LBS weight vest when I run the 1/2 mil
  11. None of the pricks I meet at the shows want to haggle. It's "take it or leave it" usually accompanied by a assload of bad attitude. With the net I can surf through dozens of sites if I need to, and I still see good deals advertised in the Shotgun News on a regular basis. The last long arm I bought was a brand new DSA STG58 from AIM Surplus. I paid $995 plus shipping for it. In my opinion that was a hell of a deal. BTW, I've never even seen a FAL at a gunshow I've gone to. Maybe it's just me, but I have no interest in haggling with assholes... I saw 3 FALs at the last gunshow I went too

I have a 3A concealable vest with a large level 4 Strike plate in the front and a smaller level 4 plate in the rear.
  13. Bold guys are really easy to admire and their funerals are always well attended. I have gambled my life many times, but the older I get, the more I am looking for better odds anytime I take that gamble. These guys were working the problem, if slowly, and not as a complete team effort. If only that respawn stuff worked in the real world.... Good Post!
  14. Yeah. If it says Priority, it must be shipped via Priority mail. Your local post office might even hassle you if it LOOKS like a Priority mail box that's been covered up. They're pretty anal about people using their free boxes to ship non-priority stuff. OK, thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll be picking up some brown packing paper when I get some more bubble-wrap to ship this upper. Get a piece of butcher paper at the grocery store or even a trash bag. Anything that will cover it up. I reuse these boxes all the time. Re-use it better then recycling!
  15. At the last gun show I went to in Atlanta. about 3 weeks ago, I saw a Saiga12 for $450, NIB. YMMV and obviously does....
  16. I really wonder if you guys know how to deal! I may have to write a article on the art of the deal when it comes to gun shows! I most always get a deal better then I could on the Internet! With a gun show you have multiple vendors selling the same article, there is no argument of support, or a better product. Unless a vendor is lucky enough to have the only item of that type there, or there is price fixing in place, how can you not get the best deal? There is only the bottom line. I am going to buy from the vendor that gives me the best price, period.
  17. The problem is a lot of vendors have too much invested in their product, despite the fact that sales have fell off they do not want to lose money. They have forgotten the windfall they received as a result of the last election. I know of one local dealer that was bribing his RRA Rep $200 a rifle to get them in my the pallets when no one else had them. He is hurting now! The problem is that new vendors come along everyday and can afford to sell for less. The prices will fall, if we don't get a new scare,...
  18. actually I am 32 years old and I weigh 128 lbs. I know it seems unbelievable, but its true. Then sorry, but the recoil from the average high brass 12 gauge is going to be difficult for you. This is based on data complied from teaching hundreds of police officers personally and with others work into the thousands. The recoil pulse needs so much resistance and no matter how strong you are, the physics are what they are. Now if you were like 3 feet tall... I wish you luck with it, have you a friend with an S12 that you can try? Perhaps the S20 is an option, I think that someone is now m
  19. Cobra has some nice wood on his Saiga 12. Go to his sub-forum, there should be pictures there somewhere.
  20. As long as you weight at least 140lbs, you should be fine. Welcome to the board!
  21. Crimson trace currently does not make a grip for hi-point pistols. One can only wonder why...
  22. My next NFA buy will be a can or an SBR. If they appreciate like all my other Title II items have, it will be well worth it, even if I did not like playing with these things!
  23. About $150USD, plus shipping. I doubt that it would be worthwhile to try and make them. Plus you say that they are aluminum! To clarify, I believe the vz. 58 drums were steel (I don't speak/read Czech, but logically they would have to be - Chinese pattern drum would not be sufficiently robust made out of aluminum). vz. 58 stick mags are made out of aluminum, so you couldn't just weld a vz. 58 stick mag feed tower to the top of an AK drum and use some dummy rounds to make the thing work. Also, 200 EUR right now is about 270 USD :/ Not so worth it. Aluminum is stronger then stee
  24. I hate to disagree with my very knowledgeable buddy Azrial. However the following is from the owners manual -.... That manual was written long after the 1911 was designed. I was not there mind you... but I have read that the thought was that the grip safety was adequate to prevent accidental discharge. BTW, I fully agree, I would never carry one without the thumb safety engaged, it just takes too little time to sweep off the safety with the thumb during presentation.
