  1. Got my long awated .308 today. Surprised to find it at my LGS. Same price as a year ago. Surprised, considering. Will restore when I get more funds. Have restored an S-12. Hopefully about the same.
  2. Has anyone heard of the .410's coming in with one or more gas ports blocked like some S-12's were? My local gun store owner said he won't carry the 20 guages or the .410's because of this. It's well documented here that the 12's can have this problem, but never heard of this with the .410's. Thanks in advance.
  3. I've got one on my S-12. I love it. Super solid with a great finish.
  4. I'm using the EKP-8-18. Gen 3. It also uses the lithium disk battery, type CR2. The battery "poles" are perpendicular to the recoil, but mine is for mounting right onto a weaver mount. I bought a side-mount to put it on and it works great. It's a bit large and heavy, but it's solid as a rock. Got mine from Kalinkaoptics. I don't shoot enough to comment on battery life though.
  5. What grendelz said. I have one on my WASR. It's just OK. If I had to do it again I'd have gotten an ACE. I just doesn't seem sturdy enough for a shotgun. My biggest bitch w/ it is the words "press here to close" molded into the top bar of the stock. After 50-100 rounds my right cheek was abraded and bleeding from rubbing against it. Do you really need those instructions when you know your buying a folding stock?!? I've since Dremeled them off.
  6. The Federal "flightcontrol" (I think that's the corect name) ammo, 9 pellet low-recoil ran fine in my gun on both settings. It was the Federal low-recoil "tactical" slugs that only ran flawlessly on setting 2. Now I just stick to Federal full power "tactical" slugs.
  7. If it doesn't cycle on 1, screw in clockwise to 2. Back to where you started. Hope this helps. Good luck today.
  8. Very good! Merry Christmas folks, to you and your families!
  9. I use a Gen 3 Kobra, made in Russia. A bit heavy, but fully adjustable brightness and 4 different sight images to choose from. A perfect match for your S-12.
  10. What cleaning solutions are best at removing the lead buildup from the barrel? Break Free doesn't seem to be the best option. Thanks in advance.
  11. They will, but sometimes gas setting #2 must be used.
  12. Looking good! The dumb ass I am, I forgot the little black tool that is needed for large adjustments when I went to the range. Mine shot about 2 feet low out of the box at 25 yds. Without the tool I was forced to shoot "the old fashioned way".
  13. Try David's. http://www.tickbitesupply.com/ak.html
  14. The Russian folding stock locks in both positions very tightly, no movement whatsoever. To me cheek weld could be better. I'm looking for a rest to strap on but so far no luck.
  15. Mine was very stiff also and required prying to fold/unfold. The parts to the hinge fit incredibly tight. I took it apart and used a green "scotchbrite" pad to buff the pin. It takes the black coating and a small amount of metal off. Look at the frame and stock parts were the indents are and make sure they aren't messed up. I then put it back together and lubed it w/ clear grease. At first I still had to hold the weapon muzzle down and hit the stock hard with the heel of my hand in order to get it to deploy, but after working it many times now I can just push on the hinge pin with my thumb whi
