Yeah, I started that thread. And it appears to have been deleted.

I vote Mossberg 500. I own of of them, a Winchester 1300 and the S12. There is nothing at all on the Winchester that I prefer over anything on the Mossberg.

IMO, the TLR-1 is THE best bang for your buck light available. Bright as hell, sturdy, affordable, reliable. I got mine NIB on ebay for I think $88 delivered about 1.5 yrs ago.

I asked Tony Rumore at Tromix that same question when I ordered my S12. His response:

It doesn't look like metal in the pics to me, so I wasn't surprised about that. I didn't expect the "pad" to be the same hard material as the rest of the stock, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Did you try calling them and asking if they wold ship another method? When I lived in Alaska, a lot of placed online would only offer UPS/FedEx, which would cost a fortune to ship to AK, so I would call the place and explain, and most of the time they would ship it USPS for me.

I haven't added any "upgrades" (mine is converted) but when I get a LRBHO I know that will make a world of difference.

Where in the GA/AL area do you live?

Mine took about 3 months. From everything I've read that seems to be close to the high end for the wait.

If your C&R expired, theres nothing you can do with the old one. You will have to apply for a new one like you did 3 years ago. There is no "grace period" for renewing an expired one.

There is no fixed number of how many you can sell without being considered a business. Use your head though, if you buy 30 and sell 25 the next week, hmmm, you might have some explaining to do. So long as you are gettign rid of them to "enhance your collection" and not running a business you are OK. When you renew it there is a spot on the form asking how many you have "disposed of", but nothing further. As for the NICS, as a C&R holder you cannot call it. It is for dealers only, you are a collector. When you dispose of a gun, you go by the same rules as if you were an ordinary dud

Just to confirm, b/c I couldnt find it mentioned in any other thread, non-modified mags will still work in a S12 with this installed? And modified mags will work in a S12 without this installed?

They cannnot "raid" your shit. They have to set up an appointment w/ you if they want to review your bound book, and then you have the option of them coming to your place or you going into the lions den and going to their office. I've never heard of them reviewing a C&R holders book though, we get left alone pretty good. You will go broke saving money with a C&R, mine has cost me thousands.

Also, make sure the gas system is not on #2 when you shoot heavy loads.

All I've ever shot out of my Mossberg is birdshot, and I have a S12 on the way to me now. What types of 12ga ammo can it shoot? Of course bird and buckshot, but what about steel shot? Slugs? And whats the deal with slugs? Being rifled I mean. Thanks in advance

I just won an auction on gunbroker for 6 of the AGP magazines, but I wont be finding out for sure how they are until I get my Saiga 12 to put them in. I'm going to call to order a Tromix on 9/1. I'm also ordering a drum mag from MD Arms now. Not the first time I've bought ammo, parts or mags for a gun I don't own yet.
