So... trade unconverted 16in for a v21??????
SaigaNoobie replied to bpatterson's topic in Saiga .308
As an owner of a V21. I love it. I'm going to eventually get a 16" to go with it as a more close range option. With Factory Match .308 ammo, the v21 will hold 1-1.25" groups. Not too bad for a Semi-Auto AK. -
Warning - Before use . . . .

Ammo or WD-40 Az?

Hey hey! It's a 4lb finishing sledge. For the delicate stuff.

My mom grew up in Maryland. US 301, Cross the Pa-toilet River, into Nanjemoy / La Plata. Lived on down near Port Tabacco. It is very pretty. Always loved the farm up there.

I do have a Chem/Bio degree so yah, I make it scientific.
-
I dont know if it will work. I'll tell you what though. I'm just going to add a small amount of JB weld to the barrel and press the FSB back on. Just so i get a 100% contact with the barrel. You may have to add some material to a GB as well.
-
My 5.45 was a TINY bit smaller than my 7.62x39. The FSB don't fit quite as snugly.

Ammo performed superbly besides the occasional light-strike which i'm currently attributing to the light-hammer spring i stuck in the gun. I was popping clay pigeons with Iron sights at 100yrds. Video of occasional light-strike Here: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=44197&view=findpost&p=404434

Ok, If you put 150rds of Corrosive surplus ammo through your gun and then let it sit in the humid FL weather for 2 weeks without cleaning, you WILL have rust and corrosion on some pieces and parts. What I saw: Rust on the gas piston from transfering from the gas tube. Green Corrosion on the Gas tube vent holes. Rust on the non-chromed threads of my FSB and Brake. Rust "dots" as i'll call them (small sand-like growths on the metal) on places of high gas concentration (brake, gas block, gas tube) Places that had NO rust or corrosion: Receiver US Trigger group etc. Anythi

New camera at the range
SaigaNoobie replied to RobRez's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Do this again but mount the camera in line with your gun, like on a tripod behind you or something.... if you have the sun or other light behind you, you can easily see the bullet. I do enjoy watching 7.62x39 and .40S&W traveling down range. -

I plan on bringing a few people and even more guns -
If you think the FF is a high site, you should try all the others.
-
I'm guessing it's the hammer spring on the hard, surplus, 1979 primers. POST PICS OF YOUR GUN TOO!
-
Yah... I put a new, lighter hammer spring in it.... THAT MAY be the culprit. We'll see when I can shoot it again. Less "BLAH BLAH" more "BLING BLING PICS!"

Has anyone tried the new Hornady Tap 7.62x39?
SaigaNoobie replied to usmc_mwroseberry's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
Hrm... I'm kinda interested in a 5.45 option
