  4. Hell, I remember when we got a 10 MEG Hard drive in the shop... It was like 4 X 6 X 8 inches... and we were thinking who could possibly EVER NEED that much space... This was in the days of 360K 5.25 floppies!!! the 1 MEG floppies were just hitting the market, too... those were HUGE storage systems!!! Imagine THAT??? 10 megs was more than enough!!! Mind you, our 8088 systems were the top of the line... till the lightning fast 286's hit the streets!!!!! Those were the DAYS of computing awe and power!!!!

  9. Talk about frankenmachine... The fan on the RIVA card was SO LOUD... bad bearing and such... I found a couple old CPU fans outside in the garage on the workbench under piles of stuff... been there for years.. took them apart ( off the heat sinks), rewired to test, found one that works, and remounted one fan to the other heatsink, with a connector from the board heatsink, so that I can connect this big blocky SQUARE heatsink where a neat, trim little round heatsink used to sit.... its ugly... but it WORKS and its QUIET! ( or at least a LOT QUIETER than it was!!! )
  10. THe amusing thing is.... I went back to my 10 yr old HOME BUILD computer. Win2000, Athlon 2700 processor. Nvidia Riva TNT card. and just used THAT. WAY better than the newer Emachines I got for nothing... ROFL!!! I built it GOOOD when I built it!!! LOL

  17. I am NOT LAZY!!!! I am just exceptionally EFFICIENT!!!!! Also... When people start to complain about things that are not their fault... I always tell them... " If you know the shoe doesn't fit... don't try to jam your foot into it...
  18. I used tung oil on my Richards Microfit stock on my 10/22. Put on about 12 THICK coats... ( Yes, it says to use THIN coats... ) and it looks and feels amazing. super smooth, hard, and easy to maintain. Just hang the stock up where its warm, and rub as much more as you want on, as many times as you want! LOL Sure it takes a day or so to dry , but its SO worth it, I think!!!
