Cool video, I have been making slugs on the cheap, take birdshot rounds, and melting the lead and making 1 1/8 oz slugs using a Lee mold, then putting them back in the birdshot rounds and recrimping........ I wonder what the penetration would be for them?

SBR a PPS 43C
waltham_41 replied to waltham_41's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Thats a good question, the one I am getting is new production and as far as I know there are no US made parts out there for the gun. -
I am getting a PPS 43C and it is in the pistol config with the folding stock welded shut. I have ordered a parts kit with the good folding stock, and am thinking I want to do a SBR on it and put the stock back as it should be. I live in Oklahoma and am a sole proprieter of a small gun store. I want the wife to be able to sell the weapon when I die. So, what would be my best and cheapest route to go on the paperwork, and is there someone that does a good job on changing the stocks on these weapons? Thanks!

Ironwood design is where I got the rear stock for my Romanian WUM-1 with the slant cut. Very little fitting was needed and it looks and feels great. -
It seems from his posts that JT Engineering has decided not to go public with his stick/drum magwell. Is anyone else working on a magwell that will work with both stick and drum mags?

Several small crank LED lanterns will come in handy at night if the power is gone. I also have one larger one with a built in FM radiio. A couple of years ago we went 9 days without electricity after a severe winter storm, by the time we could get to town (several days because of the roads) all places were sold out of batteries, latern fuel and candles. It sucked when nightfall came. -
IT works as advertised, and is a valuable addition to the platform.

Darn, looks like Im too late for the drawings, but if the magwell is half as good as the autoplug, it will be a huge hit. PLEASE make one that will accept drums!!!!!!

I have been on this planet 51 of your earth years, this shell I wear is a overweight balding white baptist male, of mixed european lineage. And no, the beings of my home planet cannot understand how Mr Obama got into office either.... -
I am very satisfied with mine,,, have done a couple of drum dumps with no problems, get it set and then its fire and forget. Well worth the money.

Not trying to take any money out of anyones pockets or anything, but you say your shotty is running fine..... as the old saying goes, "If it aint broke, dont fix it"
-
IMO if you got the factory 2 setting gas plug to work, the autoplug should be able to be adjusted to work. It is a simple design and its just a matter of adjusting it to properly vent the gas system.

Lee makes some good molds and a reloader that makes it cheap to get into loading for a shotgun.... you also get to work on your own loads and experiment. I know a guy that actually worked up a shotshell load using a .50BMG projectile using a sabot that he shoots out of a 12 gauge pump shotty. Pretty cool.

I have a couple of boxes of silver bear steel hull #7 shot.... They used to have #00 buck years back but that was before my time in the saiga world...... I use it as the top shell in my mag, and load it up the rest of the way with plastic hull buckshot and slugs. The top steel round wont deform and its great for long term storage. -

You are fighting a loosing battle.... if he is a liberal, he could see someone with a CCW save a life or stop a crime and would still be able to reason that it was not a good thing. Any news source is biased to a certain extent, so I dont see you being able to find an honest one that he would be willing to believe.... Good luck! -
I said no..... the 20 rd drum is right on the line of being too big.... actually the 12 rd drum is very handy and is what I keep in my shotty for HD... Unless it could be shrunk down bigtime, it would just be too bulky for me, even as a range toy.
