  1. Very nice product. Much better than the Halo's. Be prepared to make lots. Greg
  2. Gun is incredible. How hard was it to modify the mags and what did you do to them? Thanks, Greg
  3. These are the same factory ones that are on Rusmilitary. Keep in mind their location is New Zealand. Not that there is anything wrong with that, should take about the same few weeks for shipping as from Rusmilitary. AGP mags should be able to be converted. Maybe others here have already done this. Greg Q
  4. Top, Did you make that? I need something similar. Greg
  5. It is my understanding that you can just take the folding mech. out and bolt the stock straight to the weapon with the ACE and Tromix stocks. I could be wrong though. That is correct, I removed mine for the competitons. I had it try to fold on me during rapid fire.
  6. I would still drill and tap if it were mine. Murphy's law usually only happens at matches, not practice.
  7. I know people like this, none of them are "friends".
  8. Most of the converted sell between $1500-$2100 on Gunbroker. I would keep it. May be worth more in the future. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102149484 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=102065524 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=99721424 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=99080012
  9. There is one at every club. We actually have two. Lucky me.
  10. Tony, The one you did for me is perfect. Besides adding a magwell, I do not think there is anything else anyone would need for a serious competition gun. Not sure how long it took to build it mine. Greg Queen
  11. Bob, do you have any pics of the Tromix magwell on your gun? Greg
  12. 12 o'clock tiny bit at a time. you might be able to get that catch from rusmilitary I think. Saigastock also has them. Not on the web. You have to call them.
  13. Anthill is having thier 3 gun match June 29 at noon. Southeast NC. Should be 2 to 3 stages for shotgun. I plan on being there if I heal fast enough. Knee surgery 5 days ago. Walking aound a little today and hope to being running through the woods looking for clays by then. Top- you going to be around for this one? Greg http://www.anthillrange.com/
  14. Tromix magwell?? Must have pictures.
  15. Looks good. What did you have to do to the mag to make it work? I will buy one if you have enough material left to make another.
  16. Can one do the poly choke + thread the end for a brake? IIRC I remember someone did choke + threaded for brake somehow but I forget the details. Some sort of thin walled choke maybe. Could you explain how having a poly choke is advantageous? It changes the spread of the shot? You can leave it on extra full for long shots with a tight group, then open it up for slugs. Depends what you want to do mostly with this. Not sure of having a poly threaded.
  17. My first one with the Saiga was a big learning lesson. Like Ronswin said, watch the experts and have fun. They tend to shoot the stages a lot different than us regular folks. After I watch them, I always wonder why I did not shoot it that way. You have a great avatar. Spent 4 yrs as a 13 Bravo, some in the sand box.
  18. Speaking from experience with mine. I shoot mostly 3-gun matches. I talked with Tony for about 30 minutes before he built mine. 1. Go with the dogleg Galil charging handle, it is out of the way for scope mounting and allows quick grasping over the top of the gun while you stay on target. 2. The porting I believe Tony suggested that it did not do that much for the gun so I did not have mine done. 3. If you do nothing else, have Tony do the short throw reset trigger, you will not be disappointed. 4. I went with Ultimac top rail for mounting a red dot. 4. The folding stock is great, make s
  19. I'm with the rest of you. Without this I would be very lost in the world of Saiga. Thanks to this forum I have one of the best competition shotguns you can own. Greg Q
  20. Not dealer cost, but still a great price.
  21. Any idea how much his reserve is?
  22. I read somewhere that you were not suppose to lube it. I could be wrong. I had mine NP3 coated, seems to work great now.
  23. After all this reading, I can't even remember what this thread was about.
