Combat Medic 5
you might as well just get a glock for that price! you dont even get a magazine!
Hunter78 1
Kinda cool, I just dont really see the point unless you want the same caliber and mags for your rifle and pistol. I'd just get the regular .223 version, my thinking is if you want a pistol get a pistol. The only advantage I see is if you had a full auto version, but thats not the case. Butt, thats me and if you can afford it and want it then go for it.
IndyArms 10,186
If ya want a 9mm carbine... might as well buy the hipoint, tweak it, and you will still have 600 bucks left over for other fun things... like two more saigas...

SaltPeter 6
If you're looking at the 9mm, buy the Rock River Arms version. You'll be way happier. http://www.rbprecision.com/rock_river_arms_ar15_rifles.htm
6500rpm 670
I may be in the minority, but 9mm AR's are fucking awesome fun and you can buy a .223 upper to switch between if you want. As far as brand go, that pretty much your choice......research before you buy. I own a CMMG, Rock River also has a vey good reputation. Nope, they're not cheap, but you get what you pay for and some of the less expensive 9mm AR versions can be troublesome.
SaltPeter 6
That rifle is purty! I don't know if I'd lay it on the bricks though!
Conju 2
I was thinking more along the lines of bad reveiws. Thanks all for your input, I'll post pics when I get my new rifle
ironhead7544 35
I had the Oly conversion for the AR15 in 9mm using Sten mags. Worked perfectly. Expect the Glock mag model will be ok.

Conju 2
Nancy Pelosi gave them "two thumbs down"! Well I'd better not get one then!
trukreltrog 8
No reason at all. 9mm's carbines are just fun to shoot. I plan on getting one in the near future after my other projects are finished. I think the main advantage is $25 factory Glock 18 mags, especially if you happen to carry a Glock. A friend of mine has a Beretta Storm in 9mm and it's a blast to shoot. You can knock bowling pins over pretty fast with one.
TonyRumore 1,332
I've got an 11" 9mm Oly upper on an full auto CAR lower and it runs like a scalded dog. No problems after several thousand rounds. It's the model that uses the Sten mags though. Tony
22_Shooter 1,560
Check out the Kel-Tec SUB2000. Not the best looking pistol caliber carbine, but for the money and lack of negative reviews I could find, I think it may be worth a look.
bernerz 11
The Kel-tek would definately be cheaper. Those sub-2000's are kind of small for me, but for cheap compact fun carbine you could do worse. I have an Oly .223 that I built, never have had a single difficulty with it. The receiver is also warranteed for life. If it breaks, they will send you a new one. The advantage with the Oly is that you can get different uppers to suit your particular mood. Another inexpensive alternative would be one of those high point carbines with the aftermarket stocks, thing looks like a baretta storm. There is a thread on this board talking just about that.
