The 5.45 is coming soon. After the 4th of July we will start a Special Order listing, With a $100 deposit on the first 1 dozen of these guns. The price is not yet nailed down......Tom

Its after the 4th of July...I'm just saying... :deadhorse:

Surprise Surprise. Guess they are onboard a "ship" waiting to "clear customs".

My guess is this is not going to happen.

Ok cool so they are around now.

well something you have to do the math on is the effort you are going to have to put in to clean the rifle every time you use the "cheap" ammo. Right now the best I can find that stuff for is about 70.00 less per 1000 rounds compared to other steel cased ammo.

In my mind my time is worth at least 10.00 per hour for hobby related stuff (I'm not going to reload ammo for a savings of a buck if it takes me an hour). Last I timed myself it takes about 15 mins to clean a normal use rifle, it takes me about 2 hours to clean a rifle I've used corrosive ammo in. (you need to take the bolt apart and wash every single part with hot water).

So at the savings of .07 per round I'd have to shoot around 300 rounds to have that 20.00 in savings I need to justify using it over a different rifle.

The only really good reason to buy it right now is that you can often find 5.45x39 for less then 200.00 per case of wolf or other non corrosive ammo. Thats a savings of about 60.00 per case without having to clean the rifle for hours at a time.

Hmmm...... I got an email yesterday from K-VAR with a link to THIS.

I wonder when we will be able to buy the Sporter models.

I've been saving up for a 7.62, BUT I think I would have to go with one of these if they are available.

Once those get into the US in quantity I'm all over that one. Of course I hope the price will drop...

I wouldn't get excited, y'all.

I highly suspect this is another "let's go behind RAAC's back" end run deal with Legion/Izhmash on the part of K-Var/Arsenal.

If you're patient, I expect regular ol' Klinton Karbines like we're used to for under $400 from RAAC.

I don't understand the question here. It's after the 4th, we are still taking pre-orders. Call the office 740-942-3175........10 till 5 EST. Still no hard information, but we are promised guns from the first batch. Most people who want the guns have managed to contact us for their pre-order.....

Dumb questions: Other than cheaper ammo, what's the advantage of 5.45x39 over .223? Should anyone who's already well stocked with .223 ammo be interested in 5.45x39? Ballistics are similar....aren't they??

We can now sell our now very expensive Arsenal Bulgarian AK-74s at a handsome profit and buy 2 or 3 Saigas (maybe) to go along with our huge stockpile of 5.45 ammo that we paid 11 cents/round for and the armfulls of $5 mags.

I my 5,45X39 SGL-31 came in form K-VAR... and guess what; it says SAIGA on the side and it came in a SAIGA box.

Nice gun, BTW.

Red:> Nice got pics, Id love to see both sides of the receiver close up as possible.

Also, what are your plans for the rifle? You always go all out with your rigs, and this site is almost devoid of decent gun-porn lately.....
