Azrial 1,091
Pretty cool. My first thought was "How can you rock-n-lock the mags in?", ... I have found that the easiest way to reload my AK Bullpup is to turn the firearm on its side, pistol grip pointing to my left. With the butt plate still wedged against my shoulder this seems to make for a faster and smoother reload. BTW, very nice work Cobra, I am sure that KirsFox will be happy with it! jekbrown 14
freaking AWESOME dude. I live in a state with a total ban on SBS/SBRs so this would be a sweet alternative. What the the total length including the muzzle attachment? I imagine without one and a cut-the-tang buttpad set up, you could drop a few more inches. I'd like an S12 that was short as possible. The lower rail for a VFG would be fawsome too, though I doubt I'd use the others.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Well as it sits right now...after already having moved the trigger placement back some in the TG, the measurements are: >Tip of FH to rear of 1/2" Ace butt pad = 31.75" (to thickest part of pad) >Same measurement with FH removed = 30.5" to 30.75" >Tip of actual muzzle to back of DPH internal block = 27 5/8" >End of butt pad to back of receiver block = 2.5" to 2.75" >Trigger face to back of receiver block = 14.5"...or about the same as an AK with a Nato length stock. I can easily machine my own butt plate that will attach directly to the back of the internal block.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Very very cool, Cobra. I have my own ideas for an S12 bullpup that I'd like to work on someday. This gives me hope. Is that a modded Fuglystick for a foreend? Looks good. Thanks bro and yes it's a modified Fuglystick HG. Jaymce made it special for krisfox since he's over there sweatin his ass off in the sandbox and wanted to see what we could come up with together on this pup project. KrisFox 69
I hand Cobra762 my beat up "junker" I use for prototyping and experimenting on and mention the possibility of doing a bullpup and here it is... Looks sic. I have an idea for a gas tube modification that places a non reciprocating charging handle in the MP5/G3 position. I'm not going to release details but other than cutting a slight relief notch in the head of the operating rod (not to be confused with the puck) it should be a drop in replacement part. I've been tinkering with some gas tubes and pistons here in Iraq. Doing it to a regular AK is tricky but the S-12's should be easy.
Bayoupiper 738
In the sandbox and STILL has time to do Saiga R&D!
KrisFox 69
In the sandbox and STILL has time to do Saiga R&D! I constantly amaze the Iraqi Police Armorer. He used to gasp and mutter in Arabic a lot when ever I started grinding, sawing and hammering. Now he watches intently, sometimes I amaze myself what I can do with nothing more than a grinder, hacksaw blades, a few drill bits and a hammer.
BronCobraJet 80
That is really cool Cobra 76! You going to let VK take one to Russia with him to make them all jealous?

Tx1021 0
Very nice! Any reason for the ftf's?
Cobra 76 two 2,677
FTFs do happen sometimes with these guns. All it takes sometimes is not having enough pressure agaist the stock.
Tx1021 0
For sure, just wondering. The bullpup looks sweet though and Im definitely looking forward to its release.
