Tromix S-12 Firing Pins are headed to heat treat

Recommended Posts

I'll take two, when they become available. Will they be both parts of the firing pin or just the front section?

Buff, you just push out the pin that holds the bolt head to the bolt and pull the two pieces apart. Then you can access the firing pin, which is actually made of two pieces.

Corbin

awesome, does anyone have a link to how to replace the firing pin? how hard or easy is it?

Not that I'm aware of, although it can never hurt to have extras in case of loss or damage. Come to think of it, I seem to remember a thread I saw some time ago where somebody had a pin break and had to get a new one made.

Is there a problem with the one's in the S12's now?

I don't think its a common problem or really a problem anyone should be concerned about happing. However, having a spare pin on the market and having one in your parts box can't hurt.

There have been very few cases, really. But I'm definetely putting a couple of them in my parts bag, who knows how long they will be available?

so you are making these b/c the factory one's aren't easily available?
Yes, that is exactly why Tony is making them.

There have been a few posted instances of broken pins/strikers, and myself and others have expressed a interest replacements.

Always nice to have a stash of spare parts.

The parts have just returned from heat-treat and are currently undergoing life-cycle testing.

When we are sure about their longevity, they will be shipped to our dealers.

Send me one and i'll test it. Hell, I'll even buy it to test it.

Hmmm,

I am glad tony is making these. I didn't know that paprts were so hard to get... So you can't get an extractor or a bolt???

Yep, parts are hard/impossible to acquire.

So if/when you see spare parts, grab'em, or just buy a second S12

I managed to pickup a complete bolt assembly from Tantal at avtomats_in_action.

So, does anyone know how to headspace an S-12?

I want to get a spare complete bolt/carrier assembly too, but I wouldn't want to blow up my shotgun.
