AtlSaiga 25
Quick question guys. I'm looking for the smallest, lightest, easiest red dot optic to mount to my 12. Searching around has led me to believe that an R and R dovetail mount and burris fastfire 2 is probably the answer. is it? I don't know anything about this burris brand, are they for real or is it the kind of junk you'd mount on an airsoft gun? I'm running and eotech on a ultimak for my VEPR 7.62x39, and its great and all, but I want smaller and lighter for my saiga12. other ideas welcome too. Shandlanos 1,470
They're fine sights for pistols, maybe even SMGs. I've never seen one used on a 12-gauge, and couldn't say whether or not it could handle the shock.
gunfighteruk 6
I went with the J-point with a nice big 8 moa dot. More money but has so far lasted 2 years of heavy Saiga 12 use& going on strong. The mounting system is the same or similar to the fastfire. patriot 7,197
Burris makes a decent product. Write and ask them about use on a 12ga.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
I have a friend who's been using one on his S-12 for quite a while. We have shot over a hundred magnum slug loads and it still works great. I like it.

TonyRumore 1,332
I bought one when they first came out. Mounted it on a Saiga-12 competition gun and it lasted less than five shots. And those were light target loads. Tony Rumore Tromix
Bman 1
They make these for shotguns the speedbead by burris is exactly like the fastfire on a different base.
ErikTaylor 41
So far I've put 960 rounds of a mix of federal bulk, 00 buck and 1 oz slugs without a problem. I bought mine new a few months ago so they must have made vast improvements over Tony's model he had.
ViperRy 7
I put over 1k rounds of Fed. Bulk, 00 Buck, and Slugs (some 1800fps) and mine did not lose zero. Pretty damn nice optic if you ask me. Now if it was only $50 cheaper I'd say it would be a great buy. Haven't put BUIS on yet but when I do, I'm sure it'll need a riser.
Tram 11
Viper- what sling is that?
ViperRy 7
Magpul MS2 (1 and 2 point sling). I have a C.Q.D. forward sling mount on the opposite side of the rail. Best of both worlds.

AtlSaiga 25
My search-fu must be weak today. I was searching around trying to see if tromix still makes their dovetail mount. I can't find it anywhere but at the sametime didn't find a discontinued thread about it. So is r&r the only place that makes such a mount?
silly1414 0
I have not had any issues with mine. 300+ rounds light target loads and some 3" magnums.
midnaite 43
I have one on a JT mount. So far so good. I have a couple hundred rounds at least thru it. Used it in a match last weekend and like it. could you please tell us more about the mount ?
scarbrough68289 76
I have a .450 Bushmaster AR set up with a 3 x 9 x 40 scope on a PEPR site mount. I Thought about getting a small pistol size red dot like the Burris to mount on the top rail of the scope ring for close encounters (deer or otherwise). Not sure if the site would be too high or not? Anyone have something like that set up?
mgconnor13 206
I'm interested in that JT mount. How hard are they to install?
doodi1 23
Here is my Trijicon RMR. I like it.. Any chance of posting a picture of what you actually see through these sights? I want to see if the HK sight interferes with the dot. Also, what size dot did you go with and what mounts are you using. Im looking at getting an RMR for my new extended CHAOS rail with their HK style sights.
