TR Young 175
On June 11th, I lost my job of 5 years because I confronted a coworker who nearly killed me while I was riding my motorcycle to work one morning. I won't get into the gory details, but I told the guy that if he ever did it again that I'd bust his goddam head open. He tried to walk past me and what got me in trouble was that I put my hand up and stopped him from leaving. In short, because I "assaulted" the guy, I got dismissed. Then, 2 weeks after that, my lovely wife decided that she didn't want to be married anymore. So I packed up my guns, my rottweilers and my clothes and headed back to the mountains of North Central PA and started job shopping. I found a lead on careerbuilder.com for a job at Schweitzer Sikorsky aircraft in Elmira, NY so I applied. I got a call 3 days ago from them and they had me come in today for an interview. There were about 14 other people in there so I don't think I really had a chance. I had my interview and it went great, then I had to go into a conference room with everyone else. About 10 minutes later, one of the other guys and I were asked to go on a plant tour. So we got eye protection on and got escorted to the 'shop'. It was the cleanest, brightest, most well kept shop I'd ever seen, and in various stages of completion sat 13 Blackhawk helis! They were perfectly lined up; you could have shot a laser line down the length of the shop and their noses would have all touched it. We were shown all around, then taken back into the conference room with everyone else. We sat in there for about another 5 minutes with everyone else, then a girl came in and called the two of us again. She took us just across the hall into a small office and closed the door and said, "congratulations, Schweitzer would like to offer the two of you positions with our company." Could have knocked me over with the proverbial feather! She talked to us for a little while, then gave us our hire packets and we left the room. When he and I stepped out of the small office, we shook each others hands and congratulated each other. Everyone in the conference room could see us, and knew that he and I had been chosen. I felt bad for the ones who didn't get jobs, but I was happy as hell for me and the other guy! So, as of September 7th, I start building Blackhawk helicopters for Schweitzer-Sikorsky aircraft!

TR Young 175
THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah right, Blackhawk's, sure... lol So what did you do before this? I don't believe that I would be allowed to take pics in the new facility. Before this, I worked for Orrvilon, Inc. which is a subsidiary of Holtec International. We produced the aluminum for and manufactured containment casks for spent uranium rods. There are a bunch of our containment casks on their way to Chernobyl. I was the die and tooling engineer for our facility, as well as customer engineering contact point for outside aluminum extrusion sales.

I just haven't had the room where I am staying to set it up yet. I am trying to get it going again. I'll let you know when I am ready to get production up and running, I promise! MT Predator 2,294
Congrats! Build'em well, our military is counting on ya. I second the congrats! UH-60s are the shit bro! I loved jumping (parachuting) from as well as going on rope from them! Good solid rotary wing platform IMO. I do not forsee the military not needing these birds so I would imagine your job is stable provided you keep yourself in check. (Not trying to refer to your previous situation BTW). Do a stand up job, stay out of trouble, and I think you'll be fine!
