scattergun10 125
Any of you guys use a recoil buffer on your S-12 ?
hobbyshooter 59
Based on an old thread here; I cut out a section of a Dr Shoals shoe insert and put it in my 4 hole gun. It worked fine before with the thin toe part. I recently replaced it with the thicker insole part. If that proves to be too thick I can always cut out more toe material... Cobra 76 two 2,677
I've run Blackjack green buffers in my S-12s for years with no problems.
BobAsh 582
A few guys have run them without trouble, most notably Cobra, but I've seen it cause malfs in lots of guns.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Maybe I should add that all my S-12s (with unmodded gas systems) are K-USA or EAA imports with four ports in the 19" guns. My 22" full choked 12s are all old school as well. I have one 19" gun that was molested by Alliance Armament that's a RAAC import, but it's got 5 ports so....
JAldrich2008 28
I ordered one from Saiga-12.com when I bought my PolyChoke. I just use it as cheap insurance in case one of my buddies grabs my gun and runs some slugs through it on the wrong gas setting.
BuffetDestroyer 969
I ran one on mine for a while (blackjack), but never really got much from it. Mine still functioned but the buffer doesn't leave a whole lot of room for the bolt hold open and you may have compress it slightly to get it to work. If you plan on running mixed ammo, I would recommend getting an adjustable gas plug like Gunfixr's over a recoil buffer. If you want actual recoil abatement, check out the Enidine buffer tube (M4 style stock tube). I have one on both my Saiga 12's.
The_Caged_Bird 474
Yeah, it's called my shoulder...
drumenigma 0
I put one in mine when I first got it. So far it seems to function fine on setting one on the stock plug with most full power 2 3/4 ammo and 3 inch buckshot.
doodi1 23
I have a BlackJack blue buffer on a 19" 4 port gun with a lot of mods to the internals (by Cobra), and have had no problems with mine. Again, cheap insurance. YMMV
saigafan2 3
I have been running bLue one in my S-12 for about a year with no problems. I have them in both x39's as well (green) with no malfunctions either.
