DLT 1,646
Ok, I bought a 24 gun safe thinking I could get all my shit into one safe. Wrong. I managed to squeeze 25 rifles into it, but still need to get 8 more in. Any suggestions?

Mullet Man 2,114
Gun storage solutions rifle rods. But yeah, get a larger or second "safe". Not much is more annoying then having to move 8 long guns out of the way just to access one that happened to be in the back row.

Spartacus 1,619
I have a Cannon Challenger 24 gun safe that I got for $500 on sale at Tractor Supply. It's certainly not as secure as the ones costing 5x the price, but it's surprising how good it is for that price. It does actually look the part of a real safe, and it has a lifetime warranty. You could put the less valuable ones in this safe, and the more expensive ones in the better safe. It's on sale again right now.... http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/cannon-ts6026e-challenger-gun-safe-24-gun-capacity I think COSTCO has similar deals.... james lambert 3,059
I have seen too many cheap safes Opened up like a sardine cans to trust one. Putting $50.000. worth of guns in a $500.00 safe makes no sense to me. but a cheep safe is WAY better than NO safe!!!!
Ronin38 2,117
What if it's only about $1000 worth of guns in a $500 safe? Edited October 14, 2014 by Ronin38
Arik 565
My safe is rated for 12 guns, I think. Anyway I got about 20 in there. Have you ever played tetris?
DLT 1,646
What if it's only about $1000 worth of guns in a $500 safe? I've seen that before. Not in this case though.
G O B 3,516
For a large gun safe, an OSHA rated flammable materials locker works well. Pin the hinges and install deadbolt locks.
james lambert 3,059
Even 20 some inexpensive long guns add up to real money
DLT 1,646
Something I've done in the past is to store only the rifle bolts in my safe. Not very smart, but effective in that the rifle is worthless without it
sccritterkiller 473
Do the rods really work? I am in the same boat, need to do something....been using my MP 15-22 as a horizontal brace so they dont fall out when I open the door....it has a collapsible stock...put it where you want it and extend...lol
Mullet Man 2,114
Do the rods really work? Yes, they do. I have been very happy with them. Staple the sheet securely to the bottom of a solid shelf, around the perimeter and then in rows across the center. All my long guns stand up nice, neat, straight and are easy to remove. I also suggest heavy weight magnets screwed to the door panel, for easy access to your "go to rifle". I could live with that kind of annoyance. I wholeheartedly agree with you. However, stacking them outside the safe to access the rear is a PITA! First world problems, I know. Edited October 15, 2014 by Mullet Man

I managed to squeeze 25 rifles into it, but still need to get 8 more in. Any suggestions? Why in the hell would you buy a 24 gun safe when you have 33? If I were strapped for cash, I would have parted with a couple/few to get a safe big enough for my future purchases. Or just get another.... I could live with that kind of annoyance. Me too... Me too... >>Why in the hell would you buy a 24 gun safe when you have 33? Because it's a start in the right direction. Having 9 guns at risk is better than having 33 guns at risk. Nothing wrong with fixing problems in stages, it doesn't always happen all at once. Edit: He did say, "Ok, I bought a 24 gun safe thinking I could get all my shit into one safe." So point taken BJ. gunfun 3,931
* because he needs fast access to at least 9 guns. 4 of them are under his pillow, and one is on top of the pillow.
