Wolverine 10,360
This guy had quite a collection at home. Now that he is gone I can only imagine what will happen to the guns and ammo. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/07/21/los-angeles-police-find-stash-1200-guns-in-dead-man-home/

Wolverine 10,360
It's commiefornia. ALL will be destroyed. It would seem so but I'm willing to bet some will mysteriously disappear before destruction. The same goes for the ammo. The temptation will be too great. Too bad they can't be auctioned off to those who would appreciate the guns.....and the ammo too. What a waste.
Spartacus 1,619
The reporter said the man lived in the condo with a female, but it's not clear where she is. That's a problem if she is still alive and well and they are confiscating property from her home. Did anybody read a will to determine who those guns belong to before they started hauling them off?
storm6490 2,768
They guy was a stupid ass for not distributing his guns to family or having things in order before he died. Now the gestapo will illegally confiscate his weapons and steal what they like and sell the rest to illegals.
forsaken352 235
Did anybody read a will to determine who those guns belong to before they started hauling them off? Seriously! Did you see how they treat them? They just tossed all the handguns into a pile stacked on one another. Just because someone has a shitload of firearms, they feel they have to run each and everyone one of them, without any reason other than sheer quantity? That's some horse shit!
SmilinEd 364
Now Honey, if you compare what I have to this professional, I'm just a backward amateur...!!! Now where is the CC, I've got some shopping to do... He is/was the standard of all patriotic firearms owners..!!! Edited July 21, 2015 by SmilinEd

Now where is the CC, I've got some shopping to do... He is/was the standard of all patriotic firearms owners..!!! That collection is probably almost a half million in value, assuming only an avg $400 value per firearm. Plus whatever ammo was there. Somebody should be having their attorney work on getting their property back.
gunfun 3,931
Warrantless searches and seizures? This sounds like both a search and a seizure to me....

HB of CJ 1,263
I am having mixed feelings about this and I do not like knowing I sometimes feel this way. On one hand maybe the guy was a real bad criminal well known to the cops. Maybe he was offed by the criminal competition. Maybe he was scum vermin and the cops did the correct thing taking under protection all of those deadly firearms and dangerous ammo amounts. But on the other hand ... does or should that make any difference? Should have the august perfect LAPD shown this gentlemen's estate the respect of law and due process? Did they have to destroy value in the handling of the removal? Will the estate of this dead gentleman (if any) have to jump through non necessary and illegal hoops to recover stolen property? XdamagedX 248
a LOT of heavy barreled rifles... then the quick shot of this: I agree with the above. I thought I had a decent collection, but this person makes me want to "up my game"

horatio 515
Agreed. I'm all for owning all you want, but I wonder how he managed that collection. Or how he was even able to clean half of them. It would be a full time job. Also, would the police have reacted this way if it had been female found dead and they found 1200 pairs of shoes? I doubt it

HB That one is easy. Guy known to the cops.... Cops get a report of maybe dead guy stink coming from the house. Cop or EMT shows up, notices huge pile. They attend to the body, first officer on scene relays info up to his duty sgt. Duty sgt calls a prosecutor, who writes up a search warrant. i.e. "Warrant to search the house of __________ at _address_. To search for any firearms illegally possessed. Also to search for any documentation which might expose illegal traffic in said firearms to or from _deceased_ or others. Probable cause, 1) ____ was a known criminal with the following convictions, and listed as a person of interest in the following investigations.2) __ was /was not eligible to possess firearms.3) X worked at 7-11 before death and was unlikely to have income sufficient to make many legal firearms purchases. 4) Ofc. _____ first responder observed at least hundreds of firearms in plain sight at ____address_ while directly in the process of responding to an emergency call. The previous information, lead us to believe that there is probable cause that the firearms were obtained(or possessed) illegally. That might take a couple hours to process from beginning to end. The cops can wait a couple hours. Probably with the windows open. No warrant, no search.
