  1. Great Okies think alike. I'm going to turn a mandrel that aligns and squeezes the FSB to the AK74 adpater and acts as a heat sink and prevents warpage then weld them together. If it works then I will be good in the hood and it not then I will have to yank the press out the barrel and turn it down for a different sight base and 14x1 threads.
  2. I convinced a good friend of mine to buy an S308 and 10+ of your mags instead of a SOCOM 16 because I thought they would already be shipping by now so hopefully things will start to go more smoothly for you. Is there any hope of having mags in hand before the Aug 22nd?
  3. I have thought about opening up the cleaning kit area on the black AK74 stock I have on my Saiga 12 but those things are quite heavy. They are supposed to work but would it be much more effective than say a Smith or AK74 style Compensator on an S308? Maybe both a compensator and a recoil reducer would make an incredible improvement but I like this thing because it's lightweight and handy so unless it would be spectacular improvement I might pass.
  4. I'm TIG welding an AK74 thread adapter to the Stock Saiga FSB and then I'll be able to use a Bulgarian 7.62x39 AK74 style comp,Flame Arrestor or Flash Hider for my S308 without removing the damned barrel and putting it in a lathe and thereby risking srewing up my accuracy with a bunch of undue barrel stresses.
  5. Let's see some more pics of that S308 forend and the retainer from the front:)
  6. This thread is so Gaaaaaaaaaaay!! A freaking US made magazine Hicap or Not is a F*^ng "compliance part" as specified by ATF and the damned rifle in hunting stock configuration on has 2 evil features even with the hicap installed and is not an ASSAULT WEAPON!!! All of you bitches who are sniveling about compliance(and probably alerting the ATF Nazis) are a bunch of dickless Kapos and need to give away all of your guns and look into getting a sex change!!!
  7. Where in the hell are the mags guys? I know some of you must already have them in hand so where's the range report? The suspense is killing me as well as the $600 I want to drop on these mags once they start shipping is burning a nasty hole in my pocket..
  8. If you are a home owner you could sell your Kommiefornia House and go into semi-retirement in any of the free states without much trouble. ie Leave California with all possible haste!!
  9. How do you know my birth given last name isn't really "Finkelstein," Bvamp? After all, I am circumsized. Maybe I regularly wear a Yamuka (or however T.F. it's spelled?). I do have respect for the hard working middle eastern Jews. I's the stupid American Jews who are in politics (Schumer, Lautenberg, Feinstein, etc.) who are the ones I have problems with. Besides, I think "Shiela19621" there will take *MORE* offence on what you wrote there than anything I managed to write down. Remind me to get away from you when the rocks and bullets start flying. Hey,the m
  10. I've got an extended fuels tank on my truck,I've got a pantry with 10x the food that I need and I am buying my wife a set of fake boobs 3x the size of the set my two kids deflated while nursing, big magazines are a natural and small magazines are a symbol of ATF tyranny. Do you think for one minute the Russians would have made the thing 8rd if our country wasn't making facist limitations on firearms magazines when they first started exporting them? Besides,I am also preparing to repel hoardes of Chinese Body Builder Zombies and their Bigfoot allies so I will probably get some of th
  11. Have you ever considered doing anything with Micarta or Diamondwood? I would sorely like a set of charcoal or olive Micarta forend and grip for my M92 Yugo Krinkov;)
  12. I have been using parkerizing and gunkote for some time but I moved 1100 miles from my buddy with the parkerizing setup so I am searching for a new finish as well with several of my builds remaining in the white for the past year pending a descision on a new finish. I hear everything from Stove Paint to Gunkote without the parkerizing under it to some weird chemical catalyst finishes. I'm not familiar with Duracoat peronally but since there isn't an aerosol version of it like gunkote I'll just leave that one alone.
  13. Ok,I'll need one of those but I am also wondering since the 308 mags are similar in size is it could be adapted to the 308s as well? Great work by the way..
  14. As far as I'm concerned the Beta C-mag was made for the AK.Drums increase bolt over base stoppages and don't like fast cycling actions so the M16 is a poor candidate for a drum but the slow cyling AK is a perfect candidate for a drum. If you made your towers just right you could cover AK74/Weiger/Bulgarian/Galil all with one tower with minor post production mods for each variation

    Recoil

Ditto. That's not good. My modified 00 factory muzzle attachment works quite well. I am about to get the Shark brake. I hope I am buying something. "Cool" is not what I spend my $ on. You mean these things recoil? I actually used a german wire stock on my first Saiga so switching to a polymer Bulgarian stock was heaven for me. I think having a real deal custom descelerator type recoil pad made for an S12 would probably be the ultimate in recoil mitigation.Putting one on an 8lb 338 Lapua turns it from a bruiser into a pussycat. another idea would be to
  16. That's all you have to do to make the Bulgarian Waffles fit feed and function in a Saiga(or any other AK74 based 223 AK)? They would still work in a Bulgarian gun then as well with such a minimal modification. I thought they were a lot chubbier than that. Maybe they will work in my AK74 to 223 conversions as well Thank You Gentlemen!!
  17. That's a slick little package,Sir...
  18. I'm curious, are the 06 Saigas lighter because they changed the barrel from a heavy mandrel formed affair to more of a thin walled tube the way American shotguns are made? Any of you that have a newer Saiga should take a look under the handguards and see if your barrel has the ultra heavy chamber area with the spiral mandrel/hammer marks on the outside like the older models. I always thought that building a shotgun barrel like a machinegun barrel was a little overkill but it was still a comforting thought if someone wanted to experiment with some higher pressure CAWS type ammunition but
  19. The drum that acts as a handguard is actually a helical magazine like a chaingun or calico M950.
  20. This thread demands a picture!!! Good post!!
  21. I paid $198 for my first Saiga12 at the Tulsa Gun Show on a whim,After 3800rds of torture testing and working out the kinks in my reloads it rendered my $1400 custom Benelli OBSOLETE. I would like to pick up a few more for $198 but even if they were $1000 they are well worth the money. 8rd mags for $100 on the other hand is absolutely stupid
  22. USAS-12 mags have no reinforcement and I adapted one to my Saiga 12 a loooong time ago. My only concern is that the 10rd semi 12ga thing will put our Saigas in the same class as a Street Sweeper or USAS-12(registered destructive devices) We could find ourselves having to register our Saiga 12s after the next presidential election.
  23. They seem to work fine now, give it a shot.Maybe you tried while I was editing..
