  1. I was def. not special forces but I picked one up in Fallujah every chance I got. Let me get away with not filing an incident report more times than I can count.... Although my 1stSgt got wind of it and it's the reason I didn't get my combat action ribbon....... Oh well my life is more important to me than a stinking ribbon. Good Luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet
  2. No keep doing it right and get a bulgarian FSB and an East German ak74 muzzle brake both from dinzag and make it a total beast.. I went from 4" of muzzle climb per round to under and inch of climb per round after I installed my brake. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  3. I didn't get a new Gas block but I got my Bulgarian FSB from Dinzag. I believe you need to contact him on all the parts you need. The Bulgarian is pricey but well worth the money IMO. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  4. Worst thing you might have to do is get a file and make the angle slightly different to allow for your gas tube lock to clamp down. I had to pull my file across mine a couple times to get the angle just right and fit in snuggly. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  5. If I was you I'd go with the standard AK gas tube with the retainer. Especially if you're mounting optics or a grip. Without the retainer your grip may slide forward. And I don't like installing any part on my rifle that I'm afraid may fail on me at any point. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet. I gotcha, so the upper handguard retainer DOES keep the rail from sliding forward. Thats just what I needed to know, ill have to pick up another gas tube Thanks for the info. I might just grab the short rail and run it until I can pick up another gas tube which will make it more s
  6. Or you get the one from Dinzag that is made for it.

  8. I have one on mine. I got a vented gas tube at a gun show for about $18 and then my rail set. Works great you just have to unbolt the top plate every time you remove the gas tube for cleaning. By mwroseberry, shot with FinePix F480 at 2009-06-05 Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.

  10. Heard this ammo is either just out or is coming out very soon. They partnered with a russian company to send over the steel casings and installed the tap bullet. They will also be coming out with a 5.45.... I am looking for a box now and if any of you run across some and can do an accuracy compairison I would love to know the results. Thanks, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  11. I loved my PT1911. Put a few Nighthawk custom and parts in her and she ran like a champ but she was too big to carry daily. So I went to the Bersa 45 UC. I kick myself some days when I think about the trade but others when I go IWB I am very thankful I switched. Now if they would only offer the PT1911 in commander or officer's I would own one again..
  12. The holster I will be getting as soon as this baby gets here and my expenses start ironing themselves out..... http://crossbreedholsters.com/IWB/tabid/56...ame,ProductName
  13. I got a vented AK gas tube and cut off the extension over the front. Painted mine up and works great. Good luck, Merritt
  14. I'm still saying Bersa.... Haven't seen you headed this way to try my 45 out yet.
  15. Nice conversion. I bet your red dot is the reason for the large groups. Red dots are usually 3 MOA on just the dot. That has you out to 3" at 100 before you even take a shot. Then the side mount you have is going to move on every shot. Don't care how hard you tighten it down because the fact it's a side mount adds another 1 MOA so your already at 4" groups before you shoot. Go to your irons and you will reduce your groups. Or if you need the red dot go to a tactical rail front hand guard into a scout configuration. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  16. Yes on everything. I have the Bulgarian FSB and the East German with the zig zag cut from Dinzag on my rifle as we speak. Both work great.. However I would like to have the set screw that goes in the bottom of the FSB as I didn't get it in my kit. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  17. Not to rain on your parade but it's going to be hard to get 922R complaint with CAA buttstock, PG, foreign mags, and a muzzle brake and hand guards....... If you pulled it off elsewhere good on ya I'm just trying to point out something you may have overlooked. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  18. http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item.aspx?pid=86258 http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/item/6...M___9MM_UL.aspx They have a slightly smaller cap. however the safety is just like a 1911 thumb safety and it's allso a decocker. Runs in single or double action and I have one in 45 that is now my carry piece. My 45 is just as accurate as the PT1911 that I traded for it and the 1911 had a 5" barrel. It takes alot for me to trust my life to a weapon but I trust my life with this weapon. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  19. Sounds like the addiction bug has bit ya....... Good luck because I have a feeling you may never recover. She will shoot great just remember your marksmanship rules. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  20. As in my PM I have the Bersa Thunder 45 Ultra Carry Pro. So far I love it to death and I even with a 3.25" barrel it is more accurate than my PT1911 was. I don't know how that is possible but it is. Same safety location and action as the 1911 so limited need to change the feel up from your PT1911 and it comes in nickle for 375..... They come in 9mm as well if you're sure you want to go that route. I've got my flame suite on I know but I shot mine in every angle and config I could think of and it worked fine as long as I didn't noodle wrist it. Good luck and you know where I live if
  21. I'm doing my brothers build for him using one of Fusion Firearms kits. They are AWSOME. Make STI look like punks in my opinion. They will build you anything you can dream up. The slide, bushing, and frame are already fitted when received just need to polish them up and start fitting the trigger and other small parts. http://www.fusionfirearms.com/ IMO the fusion kits and weapons are the best kept secret in the firearms world next to our saiga. I just traded my PT1911 that I had very few stock parts left in for a Bersa Thunder pro 45 for a carry piece and am saving up to buy mys
  22. I'd rate the conversion at a 3/10 FSB replacement at a 7/10 Really you're going to need to punch the pins. Get a block of wood and a big hammer and go to town to get the old one off. Then get yourself a bulgarian FSB and press it on. I rate it harder just because it's a bit of a PITA to beat it on straight. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
  23. On paint I went with the High temp rustoluem and it's worked great for me. May want to look into it. It also matches the factory color quite well. Good luck, Merritt SGT USMC vet.
