  1. Well, maybe your future. I don't care for them, and apparently I'm not alone. The design is not new, but still quite obscure. The gentlema is correct. Cutting the M-4 down over and over is only destroying the ballistics and terminal performance of the AR platform. The Israelis have just overcome that nonsense with their new AK variant the Tavor. That represents 300 meter headshots (the full-sized barrel) in a compact rifle (M-4 sized) with legendary AK performance and reliability. Bullpups ARE the way of the future! 2. Friend. . .AVOID ANYONE who will suggest you put LARGER gas ports to accomplish a SBS barrel as opposed to the addition more of the factory sized ports. Some 'smiths have gone the larger port route only to have customers end up with shavings of plastic and lead in the gas chamber, which leads to many various problems, as you might imagine. However, the addition of additional factory-sized ports would have avoided that rather predictable problem. Choose a 'smith wisely.
  3. Cobra, buddy. . .was that set up on a ramped model with the dovetail and front adjuster connection? Or can that be mounted on any S-12? Please advise.
  4. One comment. . .in my experience (about 3 years and five S-12s worth), the only mag that will cycle the S&B 12 pellet Bucks reliably with is the factory 5 rounder. That, in and of itself, is not a deal-breaker, but unless the select-swap of a five rounder is OK with your match plans, then I would advise against the ammo. If home defense or hunting is your only goal, then knock yourslf out with the ammo.
  5. All this is too much text for a no-answer thread!@!!!
  6. Last I checked, a week ago, AGPs do NOT work out of the box. You need to re-mfg the follower, which I do.
  7. The best thing you can do to promote the S-12, as well as guarantee that it is around in years to come is to remove the 20 rd. drum from existence (it is tactically/practically impractical anyway). Hey, you asked. . .I answered.
  8. The addition of a BHO is such a drag that I would highly returning the gun for a refund, or replacement with a BHO model. The threads on this forum re-stating that are too many to cite to.
  9. JUst the voice of reason before you can't send anything back. The gun MUST be the 19" threaded barrel with the manual BHO. I meet guys in my two clubs all the time, to whom I MUST tell the news that they MUST send them back for the above-mentioned model. Side optic rail mount is also another MUST HAVE. About the AGP mags. . .I can re-mfg the followers (YES I WILL SEND THE $$$ WHE I GET A BREAK IN MY SCHEDULE, GUYS!!!!!) THey WILL NOT WORK unless the mod is done, and the guin neds to be as stated or it WILL NOT WORK very properly. Brothers. . .that is the result of seven years of
  10. LOL!! I am also a 6'4" whatever. . . . I understand very well!
  11. Well. . .the Jeric LRBHO is cool if you have the wherewithall to do the mod. Many do not. . .glad that you do, bro. We were just talking about the standard S-12 guy without the shop tools. Otherwise. . .you have a great add-on, bro! Enjoy!
  12. regular member posting in someones for sale ad (moving to correct section after this edit), which is NOT ok to do. member is a long time member and should know not to do this. they were unable to open their own ad, being a regular member, and should think about contributing when they are allowed to post again in three days' time, BEFORE posing a services ad, or adding to someone else's. 3 day posting suspension, bad posts removed, thread being moved to for sale section, where it should be. --BVamp
  13. Generally, I do not/cannot recommend the Ultimak gas-tube rail mount for optics on the AK platform of firearms. While for hunting purposes on a S-12, the heat sink damage to an optic is limited due to the limited number of rounds fired and the lower heat production as compared to let's say, an AK in 7.62 x 39 or .223/5.56 NATO in combat or at a match. I have read about REALLY EXPENSIVE optics heating and batteries exploding or the optic otherwise being damaged on an Ulti rail due to heat. The S-12 in HUNTING apps may be better as far as that problem goes, BUT. . .I personally would us
  14. That is one route, but there are others. Ultra-lite glass reinforced polyamide AR-style rails can be added for tri (or more) rail options. The reinforced polyamide rail is also a LONGER, and therefore, more diversified option: It will work for the light shown, as well as, if you should so desire, green/red laser, IR flood and/or laser. The factory side rail will accommodate the IR receptive or general night vision E.Q.
  15. Rember. . .you have one of the few CHROMED bores and chambers in the shotty world. Bicycle chain shouldn't hurt these puppies. God bless the Ruskies! This was designed for any/all eventualities.
  16. THat's what we're here for, bro. . .even if I do sometimes add answers to questions in a thread that said no extraneous text I am a righty and can count rounds for a LRBHO, but that does not mean that I don't think about my "wrong-handed" brethren. You're welcome, again.
  17. Friend: To keep your strong hand on the firing grip you have two techniques to choose from: (1) with the butt on or uder your shoulder, with a IPSC-necessary sling around your neck or shoulder, you can use your index finger to activate the BHO and your right, or weak, hand can rack the action and mag change. Or, (2) by also leaving the butt on or under your shoulder (armpit) you can use your thumb to activate the BHO with your weak (right) hand to also rack the action and mag change. If you were a northpaw, you could count rounds and lift the BHO with your trigger finge

  19. I was wondering the same thing, buddy. However, since the right lug is already worn down, I don't think that even if I added a new carrier and bolt that the timing would change back to what it was supposed to be. My suggestiuon for all guys that have just bought an older 2000 model with the sight ramp is to possibly buy a new carrier and bolt group from Tantal (he was selling them last I checked) to head off the seemingly inevitable (based on the two guns I have personally handled) problem. PLease let me know if anyone else has seen this wear on their 2000, sight ramped, model S-12. Pl
  20. Gentlemen: I have discovered a problem with the older S-12s vs the newer, or EXP-01 models made after at least 2000. I bought a 2000 model in 2001 with the 19" threaded barrel and factory BHO and the sight ramp. I recently converted several guns for forum members as well as my own IDPA and IPSC club members. What I discovered while doing the recent conversions gave me an important insight as to why my older 2000 S-12 is now stove-piping with pretty much all ammo, pretty much constantly, rendering the 2000 gun fairly useless. Look at the following pics carefully. As you all should
