  1. Yes, there are TWO seperate issues: 1) the neck of the case has a "double bump". This denotes that it came from the Saiga, and part of its "sporterized" features for legal importation. 2) the dent in the side of the case is from it impacting the reciever cover. This is "normal" in AK's. Russians normally favor a greater extraction/ejection reliability over reloading. Some have placed a rubber cover on the edge of the cover to help alleviate this ( usually only necessary if you reload ).
  2. holy hell.. i havn't seen Water's in so long.. he looks so strung out, a may far past his years. I swear, he looks like he still does as much acid daily as he did 40 years ago...
  3. If you use the ACE adapter block that does NOT require cutting the tang, then you can install the folding-hinge either direciton. And the stock is level/straight with the barrel. They did not have the "cut the tang" adapter when I purchased my ACE, but the look doesnt bother me.
  4. I have the ACE folder on my 7.62. Initially I installed it folding to the right, but found folding to the left much better.
  5. Tenative BBC Schedule/Order. Pink Floyd will be near the end, as one of the highlights! http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/thelive8event/l...ing_order.shtml I can't wait! over 20 years since this great band played together.

Friend told me about this ( the dealer is local to my area ) Saiga-12 short-barrel shotgun, registered in Florida. "Only" $1295+$200 "stamp tax"
  8. our local range has "western days".. you should see all the get-ups they have!
  9. State/Federal rights is a BS claim. Local and State govn'ts *OUGHT* to be beholden to the Bill of Rights. I can't *believe* the Founding Father's did not put this explicitely in the Constitution. What is the point of having "inalienable rights" that the State and Local govn'ts can ignore at will?
  10. It's just the century long slide into socialistic idealogy. Property does not belong to individuals, but belongs to "society". And, "society" can do with it what they please. Including give it to others. It will not be long before local cities use this against "undesirables". Also, they can now justify the "tax base" for reasons of taking over synogogues and mossoliums.
  11. The Springer Mil-Spec is a heck of a value.
  12. I used some black, shallow hex-head machine bolts for mine.
  13. I would love to have one! Since it is DU, I am not sure it is legal to own. It was on display at the Dayton Airshow I went to a decade ago.
  14. Ever seen a round from an A-10's Avenger 30mm? It fires something like a 7000grain Depleted Uranium projectile :-)

Finally did the "cut the handguard retainer, bolt on" mod. I tell ya, between the internal "ribs" of the handguard, the Ultimak clamps, and the handguard retainer, the handgrip is one tight $@#!@@ to get on! 16. The thing is, there is not anything "new" or "startling" in this non-official "memo". In fact, it's old. It is just being dragged out, yet again. The "tinfoil hats" are ignoring two facts: #1 It takes a *LONG* time to plan any military action. Of course they would not wait until war was declared to start planning. And, the US continually plans for scenarios. There are plans for just about any concievable event. Because one has plans, does not mean it is pre-determined that the nation will exgage in such plans. #2 stupid american's not knowing the queen's english. "To Fix" ha
  17. Do we have to go to the score cards? http://www.eng.buffalo.edu/~krupski/images/NastyMeds.wmv While several could easily be mountain goats, you can clearly see an ak-47 go flying thru the air at ~~40seconds.
  18. I was able to find the right size/diameter pin at my local ACE hardware store. I just used a dremel cutting bit to cut it to the right length.
  19. I just do not like the Galil style, and I do not think it is compatabile with my Ultimak.
  20. the primary reason for the bill, is due to states like California giving official state ID's to illegal immigrants. Once you have a "legit" ID, it is very easy to function in our society, as an accepted member of that society. Can one get along without an ID? Sure. But at least then if stopped, the police knows you are a criminal fugative.
  21. trust me, sueing won't get you anywhere unless you have loads of $$$ look at MJ'.. he shreaded teh anus of a white brat.. but had enough $$$.. the ONLY avenue of justice you have is thru anonymous sources. call up the local "news hound" and tell them the store is knowingly employing child molesters.. then call up the anonymous child services.. and tell them that lady who ratted you out may be abusing her kid.. then call the sheriff's department, and tell them you think your former manager may be hording ammunition and may be a terrorist. think about it: someone who would fire
  22. it is? aka. not standard AK? ugh.. btw: how could it work for botht he 7.62 and the 5.56.. arn't the barrels different diamters?
