  1. Well I guess this the best section to post a thread like this. Certainly not in "funny stuff". Here's a nontypical 9 pointer from right in my back yard. It's a scan of a polaroid so I hope it comes out ok.
  2. Great job pistonring. The Scorpion looks awesome! You will see a big change in the noise level and accuracy in rapid fire. Also the recoil will be alot less. Between the brake and the buffer my AK went from kicking like a 20 guage to a 410. Thanks for taking that much of your own time to help others. I have a question though. Since this brake is designed to work on a AK fsb and incorporates one of the pins going through the sight block there's no possible way for the pin to come out. Is the v notch in yours small enough at the top to keep the pin from coming straight up and out. After you spr
  3. GOB sounds like you got one of the old ones like mine but sold after EAA took over the imports from K USA. I assume that 94 at the beginning of my ser. # is date of mfg? Does yours have a rear sight?
  4. Nice job stokstad. What i did on my conversion was reuse the pins I took out. I just put them back in the same holes and filled the drilled end with JB weld and smoothed it over. Also added a little on the inside for extra strength. On one side it looks just like it did stock and the other looks kinda like spotwelds. I sure wish there was this kind of interest in the 410 section. I think that section has officially died. I could not wait to post pics of my project on there and get some feedback. Then after having all that fun doing it, learning all I did, and posting some good pics I only
  5. Nice shootin' vamp! That sounds like fun.
  6. How does that rear sight mount on the shotguns? My 410 only has a bead on the front of the rail and there is no rear sight. I thought about ordering one of them from rusmilitary when I order my mags but I'm not sure if there's a way to mount it. Has anyone done this? If I put an elevated front sight on I thought it might be cool to put an AK style rear leaf sight with it if I can find a way.
  7. Not a bunch of stuckup know-it-alls. I like this board better than some of the others because there are not any dumb questions. That is unless you are stupid enough to ask questions about things like how to purposely make your rifle illegal or how to make a bomb or something. I don't say anything on any public forum that I wouldn't be comfortable talking about in front of my local county sherrif. A person can ask a question here and it doesn't matter how many posts they have or how much they seem to know, thay will get answers.
  8. If you have not been to The gun's network site you should check it out. Great site. Lots of good info on all AK variants and more. The guy who rents the threading kit's handle is wjm. Here's a link to his add on gunsnet. http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.p...+threading+rent This is a link to a thread showing lot's of satisfied customers. http://www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?t=224056
  9. I think he's referring to making a tool to help with the installation. A dental pik works pretty good too if you have one.
  10. Cool. I'm gonna have to stock up. Topmaul is that one of their elevated sights? Got a better pic of it? Nice shotty!
  11. Well I tried for awhile but had no luck and lost my patience. I just went ahead and posted them one at a time. They are finally in the 410 pic thread that I started last month. Sorry I had to resort to posting them one at a time, wasn't trying to be a showoff. I need to get better at this computer shit. Thanks for trying to help.
  12. There's a guy over on gunsnet I think that will rent you a tool for threading AK barrels. He's pretty resonable and from what I've read It's pretty easy if you follow directions, use cutting oil, and go slow. The very first guy who rented it did a perfect job and was done that night. It comes with an alignment tool that fits down your barrel and keeps it straight. Maybe it would work for the larger size of the fsb if you just used it with a different die. Email him and ask about it.
  13. Email Sent Thanks pistonring Anyone ever ported the gas tube on a Saiga shotgun?
  14. W W W WAAAAAAAAAAA Dude no that's not what this forum is here for. Think about someone besides yourself. Do your own research. It's not like that info is hard to find. If you want to talk openly about how to make illegal conversions to firearms on a PUBLIC forum then why don't you go over and do it on that other gun forum where it's ok to do that... Oh yeah, there isn't one of those. DUH. Wonder why? Screw you guys, I'm goin home!! PS No hard feelings.
  15. Man that is sooo cool to know there are more metalhedz on this forum!! Also way cool to know there are some younger guys out there listeneing to something other than hippity hop. It just keeps getting better! Hey pistonring I think I would like that polished bolt carrier look on my S 410. Could I get you to blast mine? I could do the dremmel polishing.
  16. Just read about it on any and all the gun boards. It's because EAA sucks and Remington just swallowed them.
  17. I like it!..."Scorpion-Come get some and feel the sting!!"
  18. Oh Bvamp come on now! Don't be like that. It's ok to live in both worlds ain't it? You have a point though, at least with some shooters. For some reason I don't do near as well with my Glock 17 as I did with my trusty ol 357 Blackhawk (God rest her soul ) but my wife drives nails with it so go figure. Anyway it sounds to me like you need a new avatar to go with that way of thinking. No offense of course. How about this one? Might look good above that new title. Whatcha think? reason for edit: don't wanna piss off the moderator.
  19. Coastie; "Never could get used to the feel and found the ones I did try not very ergonomically correct for my hand." I didn't really care for it either at first but after putting one of those Hogue slip on rubber grips on it feels much better.
  20. check out pistonring8's post on his conversion in the 7.62 section
  21. HMMM too many of those at the shows. Well I gave less than $100 for it about 5 years ago so I guess I did alright.
  22. That turned out awesome! I had that same idea with my shotgun and a Tapco folder but I couldn't get my parts count right. That jumping kid is funny as hell!! LOL
  23. Hey pistonring8 I put one of those pin on 74 style on my AK even after hearing all kinds of warnings from other AKheads not to waste my time on one because it would surely come loose and fly off downrange. Well don't listen to any of that kind of talk cause their all full of $h!t. Mine has stood the test of many rounds and it's just as tight as it was the day I tapped it in place with a brass hammer. I didn't have to use any kind of locktite or anything but I did beef up the pin to be sure.. Used a cut off 1/8" drill bit and trimmed it off flush with the brake for a very tight fit. Had to be
  24. Once you have removed the retaining wire or "sheapard's crook" as it's called in the AK, if you are still having trouble getting the pins out dont force them. They are just off center in the hole because of tension from the hammer spring and the groove for the wire is hanging up on the hole in the reciever. Just pull down on them to center them in the hole and they will slide right out.
