    Belt-fed

Yeah, that's probably actually "mercury". I on our CAD system it will automatically adjust lighting/reflectivity/shadowing for whatever material you specify for a part. "Chrome" on most CAS renderings isn't 'bling' enough so you pick "mercury" for that shiny 'T-1000' liquid metal look. Looks like the feed chute would have been a pain in the ass to draw. Does this mean your building it and not bob?
  2. I didn't notice any real argument for the saiga, just a lot of bitching about previous polls becomeing pissing contests. Do you really expect anything different under those circumstances?
  3. If you have a "herb philipsons" nearby they carry them. They don't gouge either, the one by syracuse has another one right now for $550.

Is the keyword try here? Love the chrome...
  5. John, Looking at the poll results I think you are scaring the USPSA straight types with your strange non-Remington/ Benelli, Russian shotgun suggestions. After all, a mag-fed shotgun with no capacity limits in anything but Open Division, well...that's just crazy talk!!! It probably should be more like rifle, you can have a mag fed rifle in tactical, and a drum fed in open. Shotgun would do fine by that, but then what to make of camerons 10 rnd drum? Maybe just a mag restriction to 10 rounds for tactical? I'm not a member over there, so i can't vote.

    3 gun?

The best place to look is usualy in and around your local ranges, and gun clubs. I managed to find a small practical shooting club in my area, but they only do pistol. To do 3 gun i would have to travel a hour or 2 to rochester, AND have to worry about rochesters laws. From what i've gathered, 3 gun is kindof small, but gaining popularity.
  7. Looks like something with dinzag's removable gas block. Might want to start the search by checking him out.
  8. god bless you guys for stretching the limits in so repressive a state.
  9. I'm terribly sorry if this is what you thought i was refering to. I'm well aware of the frustration looking up thumbhole stocks can be. I was only refering to the use of the search function for the 922r compliance. That has been quite well covered with little conflict on this board.
  10. If obama does a AWB prices will go through the roof, and it might have a hard impact on gun companys depending on how well they jump through the hoops. if he leaves them alone for the most part with maybe just harder gun screening laws for owners gun prices will settle in thier normal rates. If he goes to take them, you will find small pockets of resistance that will be taken over one by one due to a lack of cohesion of those groups, the rest of the sheep will roll over and take it, crime rates jump, criminals make a killing just like during prohibition.
  11. As far as 922r compliance that information is easily looked up using the search feature. I wouldn't recomend using mags for your compliance parts anyway. Stimulate the economy and get some US made parts.
  12. I've pretty much beaten this to death already. First we would need to know where your coming from mon this? IE: where do you reside? I know in NY which had a basic duplicate of the AWB a thumbhole stock is a grey area. See while the national AWB was going on certain thumbhole stocks were considered pistol grips, but this was done on a name by name basis. All rulings were done by either executive order(bill clinton-on import) or by the ATF. Now with the national gun ban sun setting theres no way to determine a thumbhole stock a pistol grip unless otherwise stated in your state laws. The onl
  13. Its that or the SLR-95 style buttstock, and thats made for a milled reciever. Either way, I have a friend who is a wizz around a AK thats already done the hard work of figuring out how to do it, and is imparting the knowledge to me(as soon as i get the rest of my parts in the mail, and he gets off working 70 hrs a week...)
  14. WTF!?! i just read that and it made me want to puke! ok, now i'm willing to see another side to this... is there any GOOD reason to have him in that position? Anyone know?
  15. Looks like we're all "stupid" here. How classy. I'm even stupid enough to have bought 2 SKS's, a Saiga 12, and a AR15. I'm not terribly worried about my 1902 L.C. Smith , If they come to take that the world has already gone to hell. I'm worried that despite a squaky clean record, and having multiple background investigations, My government will deem me worthy of trusting with fully automatic machine guns in the military, as a "ambassador" to another country, and of sound enough mind and skill to work on a nuklear power plant unsupervised... BUT not enough to trust me with a rifle that
  16. Never looked into it till you said so, but it apears not.
  17. Exacly the point. I plan to use AGP's. I have one already. Keep it loaded with 2 3/4 00 buckshot right next to the 2 5 rnd mags full of slugs, the 2 30 rnd mags of 7.62x39, the 5 30 rnd mags of .223 and the dozen or so stripper clips for the 7.62x39 sks... and thats really just there in case someone tries to take one of the bikes! Leave the garage alone! take something from the house! LOL
  18. I have never heard of a 7 rnd mag. Are you sure you can't squeeze a 8th in there?
  19. Welcome abord! consider yourself bitten! I hope its everything you hoped for.
  20. I already did that! i'm telling you it makes EVIL ideas! Theres a untaped market you don't even know you just taped into!
  21. Yeah i remember that, A line was fun in between the rest of the hurry up and wait. Good call on the observation of the meritorios mast though! Conversation got started and i basicly overlooked its condition.
  22. Wow Indy, You've got a nice collection there:-) I noticed you have a few with a stock like the SLR-95, what are your thoughts on the feel? Also, thank you for the link to the NY laws page. Really as late into the ban as it was put into law you would think if they were going to hammer on thumbhole stocks it would be in there. So that definitly is comforting. And i fully understand what your saying about being able to go to a store and pick up a rifle with a thumbhole, they are everywhere up here. I would also like to thank you, and 22 shooter for your help over PMs earlier. I'm not goin
