  1. ReverendFranz, anyone who attempts to try and convince you the military is somehow "better trained" at removing themselves from an emotional situation does not know "anything" about domestic law enforcement. I have also found many who insult law enforcement have, in their past, been rejected for law enforcement employment. law enforcement employment is much more difficult to obtain when compared to the military. As someone who has both it is not that easily defined. Military personel have a job, a damn important one, but it is generally acute. And so does domestic law enforcement, but the cons
  2. For some reason WarriorJudge I thought you were a sitting magistrate. If I am correct I would think that you better than anyone would know the proper course of action. And I have thought of what I should do also. I have a 15 year old son and a 13 year old daughter. Neither one is interested in shooting sports or hunting. The only shooting my son does is when playing video games. Besides a 340 Weatherby rifle and a 7mm Ruger rifle I was gifted from my wife, after she found out she was pregnant with each of our children, they can sell the collection if they wish. I thought of advising them to se
  3. I like the last part of your post GeorgiaPD. My house consisted of a LEO (me) and a IRS Agent (wife). We caught hell all the time for laws we never wrote but had to enforce. And trust me on this...if you think the public is prejudice against law enforcement officers then the nasty comments and dirty looks directed toward my wife would amaze you. I have a close family member who is just now beginning to talk to Steph and I after several years because he thought she could get him out of his tax problems. Amazing, people break the law, sometimes even admit to breaking the law, and still gripe abo
  4. That is funny. Both the jokes about the French and the fact these dildo's attacked a military vessel. I would not expect to find a mensa candidate out of this bunch.
  5. This incident happened over a year ago (September 17, 2008) I believe. Officer Lilly has been cleared by a police review board of any wrongdoing. No criminal charges have been brought forth. The only ongoing legal action is the civil suit brought by Mr. Arambula seeking 5.75 million dollars IIRC. The 911 tapes have been released. Go to www.abc15.com and do a search to listen to portions of the recorded 911 call. I'm sure there are other sites which have the 911 recording. Several news sources, after listening to the tape, report pretty much the same story. Those sources report that Sgt. Co
  6. Damn...I do the same thing! I thought I was just a perv, now I know I'm just a bit crazy!
  7. Well lets find this "Government" sumbitch and hunt him down and shoot him in the ass with our Saigas (Russian built guns will surely kill this "Government" sumbitch). Last I heard this "Government" sumbitch lived in America and went by the monicker "We the People". Sadly, the truth is we have nobody to blame but ourselves. A man named Darwin had a thought once, a theory, and the "Government's" attempt to argue with it may have well landed us in the "soup" we now find ourselves in. Mother nature has never been fair, but she does a pretty good job of weeding out the weak/stupid. Perhaps the
  8. What a terrible story. Mr. Arambula seems to have done everything right. He protected his family and even showed restraint in not shooting the dirtbag intruder. In this case I wish Mr. Arambula had shot the intruder...according to the stories I have read the intruder had been involved in a drive-by shooting in the area and was running from the police officers. To grab a child for protection was cowardly. If Mr. Arambula had shot the intruder he may not have been harmed. The police officer committed, and admitted, a "HUGE" mistake. He shot before he was sure of his target. If the reports ar
  9. Saiga firearms and Harry Chapin too! It doesn't get any better than this.
  10. To each their own...at spray and pray the Saiga-12 is much better at obtuse 100YDS in the dark or weilded by nervous shooters. Leave the Saiga 308's to the trained professionals. Don't want that kind of firepower in the hands of amateurs anyway! Still...great weapons. Saiga gets points for thinking outside the box. Now, if someone would just make "steel" hi-cap magazines at an affordable price...
  11. But the Saiga-12 is not the only 12 gauge semi-automatic AK based weapon available to United States citizens (VEPR). And there may be others I may not be aware of. I will agree the Saiga-12 is probably the best affordable option when compared to the VEPR. And there are many domestic/foreign "EBR" .308 options. I just happen to like the Saiga .308-1 the best. I'm being honest, the other .308 rifles of this classification (self-defense/battle rifle) all seem large/heavy and clunky compared to the Saiga .308-1...at least to me. So, why would I limit myself to another type .308 semi-automatic batt
  12. I liked my 16.5 308-1 so much I bought another stored NIB in case anything happens to the first one. And yes, I own a Saiga-12 and 7.62x39 version. The .308 can play up close and way out there where all the other Saigas run out of gas(fpe).
  13. Now I've had good experiences with all (4) of the Dell computers I have purchased. The wife and I purchased our 15 year old son a new Alienware computer last christmas. My only problem was finding a Vista 64bit wireless card because I did not wish to run a ethernet cable upstairs. I bought my daughter a Dell notebook at the same time and they have been great computers. Even the 3-4 year old desktop Dells were hassel free. I stopped building computers prior to the purchase of the initial Dells. There is simply no justifiable reason for me to do so. Even the cheapest Dell/Gateway...ect, propriet
  14. Funny money is the jurisdiction of the SS/Treasury Department. The SS shares many cases with local PD's for joint investigation (state, county, city) police unless it is a very large operation. There is simply not enough secret service field agents to spend the direct time needed on each and every case. Always contact the authorities when you are contacted either by mail, telephone, electronic or other means when in doubt. The authorities will almost never ask personal information except in person. They have to be able to prove whom they have contacted during official business...at least when
  15. I do not understand your question Twinsen? The child sexual predators featured on the show have all contacted the undercover LEO's (posing as children) and shown a "predisposition' to engage is sexual activity with underage children. Sorry Bobash...I know you do not want your thread polluted with off topic discussion surrounding perverted sexual predators who prey upon children but I have dealt with this crap far too many times. It is disgusting and I cannot let any challenge go which seems to cut any sort of a break for these guys. I wake up in a cold sweat just thinking of some of these cree
  16. CIA Twinsen! The positions are filled from recruitment only...the very best from all the various walks of life. They are the best of the very best. To keep us out of wars and make sure if one (armed dispute) does sprout it is quickly plucked...or deflected. Unfortunately, when they fail our country's young die.
  17. This thread may be in it's infancy but it sounds like to me the contributing members who have chosen to pursue other endeavors available and needed in our Country would be on the front lines if ever our great land was attacked....SALUTE! no bullshit...I mean that!
  18. Ugly is as Ugly does! I stole that from Forrest and modified it a bit. Nonetheless, this somewhat frumpy Veteran looks great to me!
  19. Does this poll accept mulitple box checks or not? And I know of at least one extremely important branch not listed...but then again...if checked the administrators/moderators would have to die! I should add, Flyboy and Flatfoot!
  20. Thanks Shandlanos! I guess the next time I see Steve I'll have to find out exactly which model/date luger he owns. I support law enforcement but if I was a ATF (BATFE) employee I would simply not know how to explain the addition of a newer reproduction buttstock would make a german luger more lethal than one fitted with the original buttstock. It's not the LEO's fault...it is ours for electing these political idiots who pass these asinine laws. I honestly thought it was a joke about the manufacture date of the firearm and the legality of attached buttstocks...Amazing! Learn something new every
  21. Yikes...spiders give me the willies!!! I seem to remember seeing a porn star named Ron Jeremy being able to do the same thing to himself as Cobra 76 Two's snake does. Doesn't the various kingsnake species diet involve eating primarily snakes as oppossed to other prey. I do not raise snakes as a hobby but that might explain Codra 76 Two snakes perclevity. It also reminds me of the old wive's tale of snakes grabbing their tails and rolling down hills. Did I mention I hate spiders!
  22. I think BobAsh is just trying to raise awareness how a seemingly benign act can land an individual in hot water. It is a bit hard to understand how an individual can legally own these individual parts but to sell them collectively is a violation of the law. But then again, I do not write or interpret the various laws. I have to follow the laws or risk punishment like everyone else. I have a friend who lives in Lawrenceville, Illinois who asked me over a year ago it if was legal for him to shoot an old german luger his father gave him. This pistol has the shoulder stock attached which, I t
  23. At the end of the article a LEO states no charges are expected to be filed against the resident who defended himself. The determination of whether or not formal charges will be filed are not up to law enforcement anyway. That authority lies exclusively within the domain of the jurisdictions prosecutors office. The proper procedure would have been for the reporter to contact that office. It is usually a good idea not to have a knee jerk reaction concerning everything you read or hear reported in the news media. I cannot begin to enumerate the number of incidents I have been involved in wher
  24. Now come on Sly...The term "highest" is simply not applicable to law enforcement. Everybody watches everybody. Even today a constitutionally elected "sheriff" can be arrested and jailed by a constitutionally elected "coroner". Not only can the coroner assume the duties of the sheriff, he also holds jurisdiction over all levels of law enforcement (federal and state) at the scene of a death within his jurisdiction. Unless the Judicial branch of government has changed the law within the last 4-5 years disobeying the coroner at a death scene can very easily result in the arrest of a law enforcemen
  25. I side with nalioth on this one. Damn thehopping1...he must have really pissed you off. Even my bad attitude has never initiated a poll....
