  1. Sorry, had to correct that, didnt read it right. I supect they are ffls, dont know for sure. But at the end of the day, still not the point here.
  2. Bob- I agree with you. It was fun for a while, and now it seems to be a way many people get our their frustrations. I guess Ill have to find another place to contribute my knowledge and the effort I have put forth with the articles I have written about my work on Saigas. As some other posters have said, some just dont understand the amount of time it take to put those together, and to get your ass chewed out for trying to do something good or have a conversation with others, it just makes it no fun.
  3. No, I am not a member of the media. Ive been to plenty of gun shows where I suspect the person is an FFL or agent of such a person selling new guns as a private citizen transferring them without checking jack. Or a private citizen selling a bunch of new guns. I dont know for sure, it just seems weird that a person would have a table of new guns and not be tied to a dealer. Its a valid question to ask if that makes sense or not. You are so focused on the word loophole you missed the point, to have fun and discuss a timely article and topic. Anyone reading your message would find a tone to it
  4. Azrial, Despite living in GA, I care about what I read in the NYTs and other national papers because that is what legislators will be reading when they decide to take our rights away. As I stated in my initial post, I question the truth of what I read and posted it here to spur discussion. I have been to a gun show, and I know plenty about firearms. I understand you are upset by the term loophole, and I agree its not a fair term to refer to private gun sales. But I was referring to the article. I was at the tea party and believe me after paying 10 grand in taxes this year for a BS reason
  5. Thanks for the excellent dialog. Its been very educational for me to hear what yall think. Its certainly a complex issue with lots of what ifs, and I see the points made from a new light.
  6. CA is the same as NY in that you must use the NICS yellow sheet. So with that in mind, is that a better way of doing things to protect our rights ?
  7. So im in the mood for a good politically charged discussion today ! I wanted to see what you think about the gun show loophole where you can buy everything in cash and never get checked or fill out any forms. Here is my 2 cents. I love guns, and I want to keep what I have and get some more. I follow the law and dont mind the one page yellow sheet as a requirement at a gun shop cause I am a law abiding type person. I feel like the gun show loophole is something that is feeding the fire of gun control when you read all the stuff about mexico and the cartels getting 90 percent of the guns t
  8. Take the barrell off and weld the extension on before you put it back together and your legal. Otherwise its an SBS and you have to pay the stamp tax etc as mentioned in other posts.
  9. Bounce, You're the first to pick up on it....;-) Im not military but have worked with them from a contractor standpoint and the paperwork is unbelievable.....
  10. This is really scary. The only reason why people are stockpiling guns and ammo is that they want to get the stuff before its banned, or before prices increase further. Same thing happened under Clinton. Its like the stock market. Its an emotional response to the change in leadership and the belief that you better get it before you cannot. What is wrong with a state making the laws for its citizens granted under the constitution instead of expanding the control of the fed? The Civil war was as much about the belief that state rights should be respected over federalism as it was about slavery.
  11. Got this from Larue tactical today. It damn near blinded me looking at it in full sun. Awesome mount too. I would highly recommend it. http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=78

too many to post, use the link.
  13. Underfolders can be cool, but it depends on how well the kit was put together. They tend to be or get loose, and that bugs me. But I do like the look of it, and with some basic fiddling around (taking it apart) you can get it to fit tight. Id say if you dont have another AK already, go with the fixed stock, then for your second one go with an underfolder.
  14. I love the smell of napalm in the morning......It smellls like.......like....victory............
  15. My personal fav is Minwax poly shade Bombay Mahogony.
  16. So if you do a conversion and move the trigger group forward, there is a hole for the pistol grip block that fits inside the receiver. Its easy to drop in. But you may find as I did that getting a tromix trigger guard with an external tapped hole is easier to deal with.
  17. These were a lot of fun to check out. Thanks for the post!
  18. If you have never bought from Greg at Carolinas shooters, you can trust him. He is awesome and has great products and fast turn around like he said. I can vouch. Hes one of the few nice guys left when dealing with gun parts out there.
  19. use needle nose plyers and grasp the loop until it flattens (instead of the two wires being side by site, one will be on top and the other on the bottom). Then push down and hold in place as you slide the pin through. I kind of slide the pin through the bho plate as much as I can by leaning it towards the trigger group, then make sure the spring is lined up and push the pin through. The first few times it take a while, and you should wear eye protection as the bugger tends to jump out if you slip and hit you in the eye. But after a couple tries, you will get it down.

I guess you didnt even read the article Bee man. Its a hell of a lot more than just fixing the gas ports. Cadiz is not going to do all the things I did, especially the hot rebluing and tig welding. Part of the fun here is to do the work yourself, but I understand if you dont have the tools or know how.
  21. I think the 21 inch version of the s12 has an internal choke, and they reuse the same manual. That may explain it.
  22. Ive seen an adaptor to let ar grips fit on aks, that would let you use any grip including hogue. If you want the site, mail me and ill try to find it.
