  1. I used to have great respect for the catholic church, but that has waned over the years for some very good reasons. I'm a Christian, but to me the pope is just a preacher with a pointy hat.
  2. So wait.... trillions of dollars on "Star Wars" defense tech and it bought us..... Good Year blimps?
  3. Glad to hear you and the family are ok, thank God. Might be a good time to get a room in a hotel across town for the wife and kid. Then move them from the hotel to the new house. Then you can dial up the defenses at home without upsetting them. ETA: Explain the situation to the hotel and they may give you a discount and register under a false name. Maybe a bit silly.... but not if they are shooting at you (seems to me anyway).
  4. Accidents due to complacency...... they "know what they are doing". Reminds me of the dude shooting himself in the classroom full of kids.
  5. Some of the guys had some cool modified 10/22's and ideas in the "tactical" .22 thread I started a few weeks ago. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/96942-best-22lr-tactical-sport-rifle/ Get ready to be reamed for saying "tactical" in regards to a 22. .
  6. Years ago at work, we had the radio going in the computer room and it was a co-worker's (good guy) day to pick the station, which was always "urban contemporary" stuff. I started singing along with one of his hip hop tunes and he was amazed I knew the words, "How you know the words white boy?" I said, "Because that song was done many years ago by the Beatles." The blank stare was priceless!
  7. Agreed. The 60's & 70's were a great time for music. There has been a lot of good music since then, but nothing will capture the feel of the music from back then.
  8. If not for the "cruel or unusual" limitation, I'd be all for "Mr. Bone Stripper".
  9. Actually, there are compliance protocols for "Sox" (shat the cool kids say to let you know they are down with sarbanes oxley) and also other regulations for how long you need to keep certain kinds of emails. Usually places use a dedicated account for just those to keep it simple. I've been to seminars where they handed out advice: Basically every company is advised to delete stuff like this as soon as compliance allows and every few months for everything not regulated. It's just common sense aside from technical reasons. If you ever get a discovery request, etc. by someone you do business with
  10. Nice, but not at that price point. It would be more interesting for $400-$500 less. Converted S-12 with a couple of drums and mags beats it in my book. Looks better than the KSG though.
  11. I'm an IT guy. Cleaning up temp files and browser cache/cookies is all part of normal maintenance. Sometimes that is required to get things running correctly. Cached data can get corrupted and cause browser crashes. It's like doing oil changes on your car. I don't see any way (in a normal sane world) it could ever be called a crime to properly maintain your computer. Steven Gould's "CleanUp!" utility does a great job cleaning up the junk. I use it on customer's computers and have never had any problems with it. The donations (you'll get prompts) are not required. You may
  12. And don't ever wash your car, you may be destroying evidence of a hit n' run. Absurd BS.... like they have a right to tell anybody what they can and can't do with their private property.
  13. You did your job well Dad. Good parenting makes that happen. It feels good to know your kids are on the right track and will be able to take care of themselves. Congrats!
  14. They make the execution methods so difficult when they don't need to be. Don't entire families die in their sleep every heating season from carbon monoxide poisoning? Or even nitrous oxide is lethal is large amounts, that would be a good buzz on the way out. Once the condemned is unconscious, then the bolt gun could ensure the end of it.
  15. Hopefully they will be brought in quickly and safely before they kill again. The hole in the wall of the cell thing has been done so many times now (movies made, etc.), you'd think the prisons would be on to that trick a little better. Best of luck to your son.
  16. More finishing steps would make them more expensive. They were selling briskly as is, why change anything? It was also designed to be a combat shotgun, not so much to consume cases of bird shot. Most markets where the S-12 was sold were probably fine with the S-12 out of the box. They also developed kind of a cult following in the US and the mods for them only helped fuel that activity. Now the Vepr is available which offers a more refined version of the S-12. I still prefer the S-12 even with it being a bit rough around the edges.
  17. Thank goodness it's the goats and not the guns. You scared me there for a second.
  18. The pin head guy always reminds me of those Japanese Pachinko games......
  19. Normally when I think of Volvo's, I wanna see what's "under the hood". Not so much in this case.
  20. We just did this topic.... http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/97032-first-ak47/
  21. lol.... it didn't look like it was so artsy any more when he had the bloody bandaged arm, pale face, and wide eyes. It looked more to me like the sudden realization of, "Well that was really fuckin' stupid." And yet he never fesses up how stupid the original stunt was in this silly video with the piano music sound track. He's somehow convinced that he made some kind of artsy thought piece contribution to the uber liberal "Guns are bad" movement. I picture him and his crowd discussing how cool and edgy this was at the latest wine-tasting liberal mixer event. They are going to "educat
  22. So you can fly to Mexico, rent a car, get a hotel room, and pay for the health care for far less than in the States just paying for the insurance and health care alone. Just shows how really, really fucked up our health care system is. I will definitely keep that in mind for major medical situations. Of course I may get abducted for ransom by the narco Mexican police forces, so that will offset the cost savings on the health care. It's always something.
  23. This thread seems like the right place for this video. The guy is either nuts..... or he's right. It does make me a bit more nervous about Jade Helm. .
  24. A buddy of mine kept telling me he was going to paint Yugoslavian flags on the front fenders and tell everybody I was a Yugoslavian ambassador. Then I told him he'd have to drive the staff car, while I ride in the back.
  25. I bought a new Yugo (made in Zastava plant) in '88 and I loved it, it was like a street legal go-kart. Mash the gas through all 4 gears and you still weren't speeding. It really was a fun car. It was actually a Fiat design.... doesn't J-Lo sell Fiats now? (yes, I know that wasn't the original Yugo reference of the thread) .
