  1. Good post Vultite, I hope that it works out for you True for some, but not all. Some are busy handling a domestic disturbance call because some parent can not/will not learn how to control there 6 year old kids and feel the need to call the police/sheriff to straighten them out. Or they call and demand that an officer come out to their house because their 8 year old refuses to take a bath. All of the above are true and I could go on and on with more, but I won't bore you. I truly wish that LEO's could provide a better means of protection for everyone, but that is just not the rea
  2. Beef, I think that you should get twenty of them and maybe you will glow in the dark
  3. WJ, I don't own one, but I have several friends that do. They seem to be plenty happy with them and have never mentioned any problems. I don't know if this will help you much.
  4. Very nice video and it is obvious that you all were having a great time. The gentleman shooting the AK platform is extremely fluid in his movements and handling of the rifle during the building/hallway stage. Congrats to you all and thanks for sharing
  5. I voted SLR106FR, but only because I am biased and own one with plum furniture Either way you go, you will end up with a very dependable weapon.
  6. Regardless of which gun you were able to get her to shoot, congrats go out to you for at least making an effort in getting her out to the range. New shooters are all future or current voters and gun owners in this country can use all of the help that we can get right now. Again, congrats to you both
  7. 690, Both my Father and I have Romy TT's and love them. Yes, they are old, ugly, barbaric and could be used as hammers or clubs, but they go bang every time we pull the trigger with reasonable accuracy. I don't have too much experience with the other choices, but I can say that you can not go wrong with a TT. Fun and ultra cheap to shoot.
  8. Very nice work Cameron...As usual you keep pushing the envelope with great new products
  9. A gun has never entered my hands on a FTF deal without a copy of there license and a receipt be provided. If they are unwilling to provide such, then I find a new buyer. As far as paper trails go, having this information available to you if a gun were to come back as stolen is worth a small hassle. FOR PAULY: I can tell you why they want your name and address before checking your gun. If the gun comes back as stolen, then they know where to start looking and whom to speak with when they get there to retrieve the gun.

  11. The above is very close to what has to happen in order to track a gun. The gun is found at crime scene, etc. The ATF/Coppers then contacts the manufacturer or marked importer of the gun and is told which distributor that the gun was sold to at the time. The ATF/Coppers then contacts the ditributor and is told which dealer the gun was sold to. They then go to the dealer and pull the forms with the original owners information. All of this requires time and most importantly subpoenas to produce/provide the information. I have run hundreds of guns through NCIC and have never been told or info
  12. Dave, Very nice and you did teach her very well. Congrats to you on that one.
  13. I don't know how I missed this one, but here goes. The weapons were stolen out of the back of a marked patrol vehicle belonging to a SWAT member with that department. Several of the responsible parties have been apprehended and all of them are gang members. They tore the crap out of the car during the process of getting the guns out of the trunk area of the vehicle. Both of the weapons were select fire, but the Bushmaster has been recovered. The MP5 is still missing and according to one of the members responsible for the theft, it will never be recovered. Seems that they figured that it was
  14. Glad to see another Saiga fan from Georgia on here. Welcome to the forum and I'm sure that you will find the answers to all of your questions here.
  15. Redmist, Congrats on the excellent build and thanks for posting the pics for us to follow along
  16. Here is my normal daily exercise routine... Cardio training-is obtained from chasing 16-17 year old criminals (they can run like gazelles) Strength training- is obtained by helping fellow officers/paramedics pick up the bigguns (you know the type, if somebody told them to haul ass they would have to make multiple trips) On a serious note and reality, I run 3 miles a day/3 times a week with 100 yard wind sprints thrown for good measure. I also love the P90X program and do that daily with a few weeks downtime between the programs. I think that I have completed the entire program 5 ti
  17. Deussne, That is one of the nicest looking PSL's that I have seen in quite awhile. Very nice job and thanks for posting the pics.
  18. Just getting hit in a vest with a standard pistol round is nearly the same as taking a major league fast ball to the chest. The shotgun slug in a vest without a HARD trauma plate is bad news any way that you look at it. Is it survivable, well that depends on what you consider surviving. Yes, you may indeed survive the initial hit, but you will be totally incapacitated which equals dead. If you cannot defend yourself after being shot, then you are of no use to yourself or others around you. Shotgun hit in a vest with a hard trauma plate installed. Well, you will most likely survive the hit
  19. Kevin, I actually like the belly band for several reasons, but mostly muscle memory. With the belly band, I can position the Kahr in the same place while off duty that I carry it in while on duty (vest holster-left side of body for right handed draw). It holds the gun tight enough for me to carry while jogging and workouts. The draw is plenty fast, but it does take just a little more practice to get used to the straight up motion. I just grab the bottom of the t-shirt and lift it up while drawing the Kahr with my right hand (left hand is also possible if injured). They are cheap enough th
  20. WJ, I voted for the "If you have to ask option" only because you only need one mag for your S12. All others are wasted space for you and should be promptly sent to me for proper disposal. Hey, I know taking one for the team again. No need to thank me
  21. It's called "Building bridges of understanding in your community!" I'm sure that they are way more pleased about being woken up for a short period of time during the night as opposed to being blown up in the middle of the night. Sounds like you did the right thing and I'm glad that it worked out for you.
  22. You mean to tell me that NOBODY is using fanny packs anymore???? I would not worry about too many people spotting anything, even if it does print. The only ones that are going to notice are the ones that are looking around for concealed weapons. Most people are so oblivious to their surroundings due to phones, Ipods, etc. that they can't even drive their cars correctly let alone spot a print on someone carrying CCW. Most of my off duty time is spent in a t-shirt and sweats, so a holster is normally out of the question. I either carry a Kahr CW9 in a belly band under the t-shirt or a
  23. Barney Fife...somebody has to claim him On a more serious note: Jesus My Dad Everyone (both fellow officers and civilians) that have ever helped me come home from work My Wife and Mom (after seeing what they go through during birth) The first person that ever stuck a projectile in front of a powder source
  24. You might look up another forum member on here "Nalioth" I believe that he is from the Houston area and has build parties from time to time.
