Not so, The Saiga spring is shorter on the right hand leg to clear the BHO. Use of a standard AK spring with the BHO installed wil cause the disconnector not to engage.

The silver colored unit above and to the rear of the trigger is the catch side of the folding stock's push button.

What is a cheap an effective way to attach this flashlight?
gunnysmith replied to Shannon McNair's topic in Saiga-12
Don't believe I want one, especially on any weapon I own. Heavy on the "I" I'll stick with my original statement. I'm not trying to convince anyone else. Still not interested. -

With the cover off it is easy to catch the hammer with your thumb just as it is released. Then you can reset it. You are just working on the trigger. Sequence: hammer cocked thumb on hammer pull trigger, reset hammer, release trigger to see if it resets. push the trigger forward if it doesn't reset repeat until it does reset reliably. no need to drop the hammer all the way. dry firing is OK but you don't need it for this operation.

Check to see if both hammer springs are in the rear of the trigger/sear assembly. Lube it, work it, wear it in. I usually do it with the dust cover off and no ammo or mag in the weapon.

They said something about reloads. Could be bullet setback, that's why I crimp for auto loaders.

It's an AK not a Sako You're causing yourself more trouble than it's worth. If you ever break it off. I'll send you one for free. I have them from conversions when I replace the entire trigger guard.

Just consider them "lightening holes", now it weighs less. Man, it's an AK it ain't supposed to be pretty.

What is ruined about it? A picture might help.

I usuallly follow standard machining practices. Tha would be turning ot the threads major diameter. It would probably put extra stress on the die if not turned, plus most external threads are flat on the top

I merely provide the visual. I don't second guess the designer. What will work is a different story. My personal builds are based on what the designer intended. But that is me, not everyone else is required to comply with my building criteria.
