  1. Crud off the gas vent hole? Unburned powder after the cycling/gunpowder residue/Dirty ammo?
  2. Shame to hear, it was an awesome sight to see one come up over the ridge into town two years ago.
  3. 14x1mm LH thread on my Yugo, put a "phantom" brake on it just because it looked kinda naked with just a muzzle nut.

    .22 AK

You expected to see a gas system on a .22lr that was something other than blowback?
  5. The major limit there would be iron sights, if you had a scope rail (my M72 doesn't ) you could mount up an optic to help you see better. The irons are ranged out to 1000 meters, but the furthest range I've tried is 500 yards and I didn't do very well due to the iron sights. The longer, heavier barrel helps out alot compared to the shorter 16" standard AKs.

WASR-22, there is a screw on the bottom of the bolt that you have to tighten to keep the extractor spring tight enough to reliably extract spent casings. Switch out the top cover it comes with for a standard AK cover. Black Dog Machine makes 25 round mags for it. Don't polish up the bolt carrier, I changed the disconnector spring in mine with a standard AK one.
  7. The 100 series I've played with was way too high like SN13 mentions. It did fit level, but to the left of center.
  8. Lies! well....maybe not as much I've shot it since then but I can't remember if you did...
  9. I stopped and off duty cop who was trespassing about a year ago through a farm I hunt groundhogs on. I was using my Savage .22 with my suppressor, he just asked what I had and if I liked it. 10 mins later he sent his buddy back in the marked car and the on duty cop gave my friend who was walking back to join me a hard time about my "stopping of vehicles with a rifle". Never made a mention about wanting to see any papers. Suppressed .22s wouldn't be the place to start for me if I wanted to stop anything larger than the groundhog I was shooting at.
  10. A broken spring in a factory 8? what they do try to use it as a bottle jack?
  11. I have a Yugo M72 built on a Century receiver. It has no problems hitting the steel target at 300yds at the range every time. I'm thinking the size of the target is roughly 2 ft wide and a foot tall, I know that doesn't sound impressive but its consistent at that range. If I settle down and take my time I can hit the same target at 400yds. This is all using Barnual 7.62x39
  12. Hey Tom get better, Pittsburgh is a real good city for hospitals. Shame I don't think any of my nurse friends work the VA or I'd send em by to keep you in line.
  13. This is a government agency doing the counting we are talking about here
  14. I can only hope that you can outdo the Russian's in the cheezy music from their Saiga factory torture test video
  15. "I only had the gun for a few hours" yet its already on the operating table.... I'll start eating ramen noodles now to save up for it
  16. Ouch, just can't seem to catch a break down there with those Cobras can ya?
  17. As in the 20/21/22? Ya I'll be in a really big metal box complaining about 5 12 hour shifts back to back Yup, 5-21 and 5-22. I'll be in Huntingdon. My step dad just got a new AK-47, and with a little luck, I'll have a new pps-43. Well if the planets ever align, I have a full tin of 7.62x25.......

  19. Ya....so...I'm going to pass on the extreme death by heat thing. The "regular" Cobra Venom is strong enough for me
  20. Yes I'm sure you could find some of us crazy people who would much rather have a 20" gun as opposed to the 16" one
  21. $691 delivered here to me, twas the year obama was elected.
  22. Holy carp you're almost local, used to shoot in the strippings up that way outside town. Well until the land got all bought up.
