  1. Can I add to that?! He who doesn't know the cost to doing his own business will eventually fail, even with a good product Sounds like you got it figured out mogunner
  2. I have a ton of AR parts left over from some builds to include a Noveske lower, stag upper, Geiselle trigger and all the parts to put the lower and upper together. All I need is a stock, barrel, bolt and mags. What still has me on the fence is what kind of barrel to get (brand), twist rate and the length. What kind of mags (brand)? Thoughts?
  3. I've played with a fixed stock one and a collapsible stock one, of the two I'd take the fixed stock. Good gun, very accurate although it was a little rough on brass (wouldn't use it to reload) and mags were iffy......the ones that worked well always worked but my friend says he's gone through alot of magazines to find 10 good ones, good thing there cheap. I'd still pick up an FAL over a PTR but that's a matter of preferance, good luck!
  4. Guido-I think the company was purchased after the POSP but I wouldn't doubt it, I've seen a couple of them and drooled. I had to sell my 1.1-4x25 to purchase this one and am sure I'll regret it, it was a great all purpose scope. I'm on the verge of getting a 6.5 Grendel project going and think I may go on another selling rampage in order to give there new 1-10x a try, it sounds like it would be perfect from 0 out to 1000. If I just can't sell enough I may try there 2-12x with an offset red dot, either way they have me hooked as a long time customer.
  5. I can honestly say that there glass quality is some of the best I've ever owned. I would compare it to Nightforce or any of the other top tier glass makers out there and am very interested in picking up there 1-10 when I hit the lottery
  6. A correction, there are 10 mils of drop built in. The turrets are1/4 MOA adjustments.
  7. Bought this for my AR pistol and am very pleased with it. I originally wanted to use an ACOG but the sight picture was hard to aquire with such a high mount. There are rails mounted directly to the scope/mount which has been helpful in doing an offset RMR for closer work. The reticle is valdadas CQB, it has the upside down horse shoe which helps range a head sized object at 100m and 200m with 2 other offset circles for 300 and 400. There is 10 MOA of drop built in before any adjustment needs to be made, still not sure how I feel about that. I understand mil/mil better but I don't think it
  8. I'll be up this week with the appropriate paper work and can help you through it. Send me a PM on what day is good. Edit to add: Setting up a 501©(3) will take anywhere from 6 to 9 months to get approved. For the long run it's a good idea, for short term you'll need a different approach.
  9. It's a Surefire product. Call them and ask what they can do for you, there a pretty good customer service company to the point where if they can't fix it they'll send you some new ones. Any issues running other mags in the gun? This could possibly be gun related and not mag related
  10. My list is never ending. Looking at what you currently have it sounds like it's time to step it up to the long range stuff. A SCAR-17 or a bolt gun would do nicely! Or you could pull a YARP and go handgun crazy mmmmmmmmmmmmmm llllllloooooove handguns
  11. That is pimp as hell Juggs, I'm not to in to Hollywood actors either but Boondock Saints (the first one) is one of my favorites. I'd drink a beer with that guy!
  12. Glock lamp, TLR or a Surefire X series all are pretty good lights. They now have a version of the Zack holster that will work with the light equipped to the gun.
  13. Spend a little extra for brass cases instead of buying steel cased crap. Sometimes an extra buck is worth not putting up with head aches at the range.
  14. A little piece of my soul was stolen by reading all of this.............. I don't know why I couldn't stop? Kinda felt like a train wreck.....can't......look......away.....must.....stop.....before my little brain pops
  15. Skip Century unless you've fired it yourself and have seen the results, century always seems to be a crap shoot on FALs..... I'm a self professed FAL addict, if you have questions throw'em down, I know there's more guys on here with them that could also answer your questions. FYI-if you just want to go pick one up ready to go with out doing a build or sending one off to a gunsmith then go with DSA. There pretty much king of the FAL game for large production.
  16. Ak Monty-I haven't had any issues running Remington sub 220gr through Noveskes 10", the 8" I admit has been spotty but they let you know that up front. There is no reason to use subs if your not using a silencer though, there are so many better choices to use when running supers. I don't run any rails on the fore end of my AR pistol uppers so I guess I didn't really think of the cost of a KAC, how much is it? Most recent build parts: 8" 300 blackout barrel (includes gas tube/block)=$350.00 PWS Bolt=$105.00 VLTOR Upper=$160.00 PRI Gas buster charging handle=$85.00 Fore end barrel nut et
  17. Very true! So what kind of ammo have you run through it? What optic?
  18. They are nice uppers, I'll give you that..............I still think you can easily do better for $900.00+ on building your own. The first thing I do with any AR pistol is change out the charging handle to PRIs "gas buster charging handle". If it's a 300 blackout build I use a Noveske barrel, they are simply put the best barrels I've worked with for 300 blackout. The AAC also doesn't come with iron sights, that could easily be another $100 to $200.........
  19. All questions answered in the OPs first post............just sayin! LOL! The weight is still a mystery but I'd guess decently heavy. 8 to 12lbs? "My M1 is sporting a Thompson Center Recoil Proof Pistol Scope 2.5-7x28mm, and low Burris Xtreme Tactical Rings." "She is a completely restored M1 Garand built on a Harrington & Richardson Arms Co. receiver, by Dean Dillabaugh of "Dean's Gun Restorations" located in Tennessee."
