Hats off to you Roofers!

So, if it took 56 man hours for Akmonte's roof with experienced workers, you didn't do too bad at all. -
I would have a problem with this guy's safety practices at the range. Seems every direction direction is downrange in the video.

I hear ya, ...21. Ass kicked. I had a major project last summer. New entry deck and stairs on the front of the house. Of course, when I tore the old deck off and peeled off the siding to flash I found the entire front load-bearing wall and double rim joist had to be replaced due to poor flashing 30 years ago and the water damage resulting from that. There was literally nothing holding the wall to the footing except rot. All invisible because vinyl siding. There was not even any house wrap under it. So glad I have the skills and ability to do the work myself, but like you said, I felt pain -
How do you celebrate the 4th?

Four shifts in two days sitting in a gun tower. Liberty and freedom aren't for everyone. Edit to add: At least the convicts were surprisingly well-behaved for the last few days. That can only mean that something big is coming up. -

Good video. I don't disagree with any of it. Even shotguns can be vodka specials. LOL This is the reason I spent about 8 cumulative hours going through it before we bought.... especially a used one. I had to replace a brush spring in the power jack motor. No warranty on used so I knew going in I was going to save 2 hours labor charge doing something I could do easily. There was a local Skyline mobile home factory local to here for decades. I know scads of people who worked there and you definitely didn't want to buy a home that was built on a Monday, or a hot muggy Friday afternoon when th

We finally got it over to VT for our maiden land voyage. Pure boondocking. Stayed four nights at some friends private property with heaven like views. Pulled out on Monday morning and swung into a dealership dumping station a couple miles from home to dump and flush for $10. We used about 4 gallons of gas in the generator to charge the battery and watch some tube during the two hours of rain we had. That made for a cheap mini-vacation. We're headed back for the holiday weekend, starting Thursday. The view OTD of Birdseye Mt. Ben's Slide, and Herrick Mt. A short ATV ride to t

Savage rifle question

Hmmm, I guess one can reinvent the wheel, or at least customize it. Here's a couple more links: http://www.chuckhawks.com/rifling_twist_rate.htm http://www.chuckhawks.com/rifle_barrel.htm -

I'm convinced that's how the Leftists are intentionally using guns and willing actors to make their point. It seems these weak-minded assholes are martyring themselves for a political cause, while causing pain and death to people for simply having different ideals or beliefs. -
Savage rifle question

Generally a slower twist rate will not stabilize heavier bullets as well, but can handle bullets lighter and faster than one would normally push. Say a .308 with a 110 gr. bullet will theoretically perform better in the slower twist rate barrel at 3270 fps that a 180 gr. bullet at 2300 fps. In smaller calibers such as .223 you'll see twist rates as slow as 1:14" for tiny 40 gr. bullets that are moving so fast they would spin apart from a 1:7" twist rate barrel. -

What're You Having for Lunch/Dinner?

Yeah, there's like three different types of acid in pineapple as it is. Good thing it's loaded with sugar, too. -

I have CSRs in the smoker, too! Just enough for me, though. -
We got this for the same reason, but we definitely didn't want a bunk house. Guests will have to bring a tent. We learned this last year when we were invited to go camping with friends. Little did we know the hosts had invited her sister's family along, too. 5 adults and two teen boys in a camper will never happen with me.

Good tips. Thank you. We've been AAA members for 25 years or so.

Lightning took out our deep-well water pump a couple years ago. That kind of sucked. Never take turning the faucet and having water come out for granted. Luckily we have several springs on the farm to go get buckets of water from.

The weight distribution hitch is being installed on Tuesday as well. The truck has the sway control, and brake control, and the 3.73 rear end for towing in the package I bought. I wrote misinformation earlier. The max towing capability is 8500, and the trailer dry weight is 5100 (according to the specs). Anyway, it is well within the capability. The 12,200 is the GCWR. I really appreciate the advice, and I have been reading so much I'm getting boggled.

The new F150 I got last July. It'll tow 12,200 and the trailer weighs 5,450 dry. It shouldn't be any problem. Thanks for the advice. I'll con the dealer into showing me how to flush the tanks.
