  3. Same thing happened at the range. Although, it took many more tries. I was using slug and loading one into a mag at a time. After 5 or so, I moved on to 3 per mag. By the time I hit the second full mag the BHO hook was sheered. The idea is sound, but the material is not. Well keep at it. According to some, it took 5 years to come up with a working product. Yours works, just need stronger material. Impressed I am! I'm sure it'll pan out if you stick to it. Glad the testing went well. Now let's find some stronger material. Yup, that's what we're needing. Everythin

  5. if you are looking for a US made, the arsenal is probably matching mil-spec minus being chrome lined. the ak-103 .com brakes are mil-spec with the chrome line. if you dont need US made, check out the trader here or maybe akfiles or akforum and you can find many choices. Righton! Thanks for the info.+1
  6. Anyone looking to convert/Mod their 12 or any Saiga really, check out http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=57917 . Just posted by Greg from CSS. Excellent Videos!

  7. Great Job! Really helps alot. Done with all my conversions, but I like to watch the process anyway
  8. So, again after looking at pics on this thread, I decided to do a lil bullet test of my own and come to find out I believe my brake is actually made for 5.45. On P-A's photos, the bullet sinks down past the exit hole quite a bit more. My photo looks more to be like Nalioth's, which is 5.45. Ive shot 30+ rounds through it so far and no hits to the side...yet, that I can see. And being that I spent all day yesterday looking for these "milspec" brakes and have yet to find one, I say fuckit and im just going to get an Arsenal brake thats actually made for 7.62. Quality looks way better than all
  9. All this proves is that you're hooked on the Arsenal Kool-Aid... Well, from where I sit, that "Kool-Aid" has been pretty tasty and satisfying. I've yet to buy anything from Arsenal/K-Var that wasn't extremely high-quality. I've been very pleased with my purchases from them. I don't know what your problem with Arsenal is, nalioth, (you've never elaborated on your ever-present extreme dislike for them), but perhaps you should get over it... that or tell us what's so bad about their company and/or products. I guess AK-103.com must be drunk on the "Kool-Aid" also, huh? I mean, t
  10. I agree. Take out the bolt carrier, gas adjustment knob, and tap it out with the cleaning rod. I've done it that way before.
  11. And where would one find a Military/quality US made Copy for 7.62?
  12. well S.O.A.B. if that doesn't just kick the donkey in the balls.
  13. I just wanted to post a pic of my brake being that looking at everyone elses, I see differences in each and thought it would be of help to anyone looking for such differences. Mine from dinzag $40 not sure if people consider this a cheapy, I dont. Ive seen way cheaper. Nalioths is an east german and has different ports than mine and post-apocalyptics I imagine is from K-var/Arsenal, again, im not sure but has a similar gas port to the east german brake, but slightly larger. Price I am unsure about aswell. I know Arsenal's brakes are like $70 or so. so for another $30 you c
  14. I just put the brake that you speak of on both of my 7.62s. It works fine. I've put 30+ rounds through it already. No problems. $40 from dinzagarms http://www.dinzagarms.com/brakes_hiders/brakes_hiders.html
  15. I actually just cut my pg hole on my S12 today. Used a dremel w/fiberglass wheel. I just measured the hole on my 7.62 from the rear of the receiver. 1-5/8" & 2-1/16" pulling from the rear of the receiver. Forgot what the sides were. I suggest you double check just to be sure. Lol, not much I am.
  16. Crap! Where is everyone getting all these damn days off at!?! I'm tired of working 6 effn days aweek every week. Guess I'll suck it up and be thankful I have a job

  17. I've had people treat me that way. Fuk'um! Here is a link that might help. http://www.dinzagarms.com/downloads/s12-threading.pdf And here is a page that has some other info u might be interested in: http://www.dinzagarms.com/downloads/downloads.html And furthermore, saigas are some of the most FUCKING AWESOME platforms there are in my opinion
  18. its 5 o'clock somewhere, wtf am I doing here.

  19. I agree. I just got that same email this morning. Looks ok. Not great, but what do I know. The rails are alil too far forward and I currently have a tri rail on it anyway with an angled fore grip instead of normal fore grip. Works alot better than a similar to the picture fore grip I already own. Thats just me though. I do like the fact that they are working on making accessories for the s12.
  20. I was just doing the same thing. Here was my post, maybe there be some useful info in it. http://forum.saiga-1...showtopic=57088 First thing I did was get the front sight post even/centered between the ears, then I actually went to walmart and bought a laser bore sight, sighted it in in my living room, wacking the FSB right or left until it would align with the dot. then took it out to the desert and sighted it in that way. shot three rounds saw where they hit and wacked the fsb right or left with a rubber mallet. and also used a front sight adjustment tool to raise/lower the elevation o
  21. perhaps its just that perticular ammo, cuz ive gotten better deals on7.62x39 and 5.56 from ammoman, tracking number included. thats just me though. They have deals come and go. SGammo is great and I keep an eye on them for updates. Not always the best base prices but some times come out better on shipping, and even do run sales that beat others. They have great customer service and fast shipping! Probably so. I just read the first post and went to check it out and compared. But you're right, they probably do have better deals sometimes.
  22. I used the drill and tap method. Ive never had any experience drilling or tapping either. I ended up braking my first tap that I got from CSS. Went down to one of the local hardware stores and bought a second tap with some cutting oil and it seemed to go 100% easier. I did also have a drill press but know that it can be done by hand. Here is a link for some instructions, its what I studied. http://www.dinzagarm.../bg_install.pdf Good luck
