  1. Fury magazines now and planned: In 3 Gun capacity is one of the key elements in being competitive. While I know Saiga mags can be used in the Fury with the addition of an adapter plate from CSS that wouldn’t work for me for 2 reasons: 1st Saiga mags don’t function the LRBHO device in the Fury, and 2nd Saiga mags cost about the same as Fury mags but have to be modified to work in the Fury. Right now I have 8 mags for the gun 4 of each the 5 and 10 shot, plus I just ordered 5 of the Fury II 5 shot mags for $3.99 each + shipping for part of the planned actions. Hopefully after some “Frank-N-M
  2. use to have a saying when I was a 463X0: "when the bomb goes off, make sure you're higher than the bomb." but I don't know if that would be skilled/sensitive labor.
  3. ran a light recoil spring (not sure of the weight found in in an box of old parts) gun will cycle cheap 1 oz 2 3/4 dr eq stuff all day long. from my stand point my work here is done, have to let the son see how he does and we'll go from there. I got 3 springs in a 14, 18.5, and a 24 pounder plus I found 2 Saiga springs have to see what set up works the best with a ammo to be used at matches.
  4. a shit may float for a while but goes down when the toilet gets flushed
  5. yeah the bbc use to have some hot stuff and even today some of their stuff still isn't what you'd talk about in church.
  6. added some paint, there that changes everything.
  7. the other day I put the gas selector on the high brass setting and the federal ammo still ran the gun but wouldn't lock the bolt back on the last round. well this morning doing a little more testing I put what I think is a heavier recoil spring 18 lb. on the front one. the federals and the managed recoil slugs still run, but the gun club shells dropped to about 80% cycling and the winlite buckshot was a 50/50 chance of running the gun. later I may try to get a lighter recoil spring 13 lb range and see if I can get the lighter / cheaper target loads to cycle. I'd like to get this gun to run stu
  8. 1st let me say I’ve pretty much read all the post on here and elsewhere about Fury shotguns believe and only time and use will tell if they’re junk or not. I got one and as have posted else where in other threads seems like so far so good. It’s not a Saiga but it was $369.00 NIB before shipping and FFL cost. A common subject is what ammo will it cycle mine eats 3 dr eq Federals fine, is luke warm on Remington gun club, and doesn’t want to play with cheap Winchester at all. Seeing how my purpose with the gun is to set it up for 3 gun I’ve got no interest in heavy duty ammo or steel shot s
  9. had the same results with my Fury 1, plus it will cycle Remington Gun Club loads but I don't get a warm feeling with the Remington's kind of like its running but doesn't want to. As is more or less normal Winchester Super Target were a no go.
  10. well I got my NIB catamount fury 1 yesterday and took it out in the backyard just now and ran 10 rounds of low brass 2 3/4 dr. eq. Remington gun club target loads in it with out a hitch. the only preps I did was run a swab in the barrel before shooting and change the choke to the imp cylinder (I should note the full choke that was in it, was IN IT. took some effort to remove) got to say the gun looks and seems better than what I expected. it a came in a foam lined black century arms box not the styrofoam in a brown box I've seen in some photos and videos. who know it may be a later import
  11. at just under $400 and seeing the other threads here and watching Greg's videos at CSS it seemed to me this gun was worth a look. I'll make a call on to keep it or move to get my money back on a resale pretty quick. I'm in my 60s so chances are even a china made gun could last me the rest of my life plus I just wanted a new toy to play with. sixshooter seems to have never had to deal with something new that didn't work as he expected it to right out of the box. the fact he went to saiga sites shows he may not understand the world of forums. if the new gun will cycle a good buckshot loa
  12. just bought a catamount fury 1 today when it gets here I'll see what I got for my $398.95. most of the saigas and veprs I've been seeing are going for at least twice that or more so it's a crap shoot. see if I got one of the ones that work or a Chinese version of a vodka special. figure I needed a project gun to play with, hope I don't have to work at it to make it run because for the first year the warranty is going to do the lifting not me. oh I'll clean and deburr as needed try a spring or 2 but not getting into gas blocks and such. after the year is up then I look at conversions or what ev
  13. I just now bought one of these NIB for $398.95: GB auction $369.95 + $29.00 for shipping. Been following this and other write ups and looking at CSS parts and videos for a while figure what the hell it will make a good project and hope to make even a good gun out of the deal. Guess we'll see how it all goes. I've been looking at the project of setting up a Catamount Fury 1 model # SG1874-N to be 922® compliant while keeping the cost down. Now before we get started on the hi-cap legal side of the gun we need the gun to cycle. A lot of imported AK based shotguns don't want to cycle anything
  14. guess I didn't write my thoughts very clear (alcohol a great late evening drink but a poor editor of writing) for one I don't in general support the actions of either BLM the older Bureau of Land Management or later black lives matter movement. I wouldn't have supported a German lives matter movement in the 1930s or an Arab lives thing today either. I was pointing out the choice of a gun as a symbol of power was new to the dialog, I found it refreshing that they at least understood the 2nd amendment matters with the problem being they take the stand that "Whitey" and the police (these type
  15. you've got people living in poverty in what in their minds is a virtual welfare and police state, where at some point in their lives most on the men have been in jail now people are telling them to stand up for their rights and do a show of force and power while this is not my 1st choice of events I'd support at least it was pro gun by someone other than what the public is starting believe is just some mass murder committing whites. other than the Native Americans these people have suffered more at the hands of the government than most of us, they haven't understood that handout is not a
  16. I had a couple of Mustangs that were fine but the EXP was the last Ford I'll ever buy. I had a 76 IH Scout II at the time that got 12 mpg and wanted something that got better mileage, the EXP was a problem child from day one the gas pedal fell off on the way home from the dealership and as it turned out for that car that was a good day.
  17. I had the other Escort the EXP (looked like a good idea at the time, I was wrong about that one) was still all Escort at heart, traded it in 86 for a Camaro
