1. Beyond for the benefit of MAA and our community, I really hope they are located very quickly and not a single one falls into the wrong hands. The LAST thing we need right now is some dipshit or two committing a crime with one to gain more unwanted attention than we already have.
2.

Sorry but that is my biggest fear as well. All the other points can be shown otherwise. I haven't heard a single person defend this one.
3. WOW!! That's crazy! I really hope they show up without having to get the ATF involved but if not I bet locating it goes way up on their priority list. Really sorry to hear that for you guys. You're one of the good retailers who has tried to keep the prices as low as possible. Hope you get them back ASAP.
4. Why would you have to unload them? He said if they banned importation, not declared them a DD. If they only banned importation you and everyone else would still be able to keep them. Now if they declared them a DD, then everything changes.
5. Of course, look at gunbroker and the recent sales of just the basic unconverted model. They are already selling like hotcakes for $800 with many others selling for $900. "If" they end up banning them, you'll be EXTREMELY lucky to find one ever again for $1000. My guess is that the starting price would be around $1400-1500. I sincerely hope it never comes to that and instead we get them in for $400 with pistol grip (study said they considered it sporting).
6. Get her the 5.45. Its the cheapest ammo of the choices which means she can shoot more often and the recoil is also very tame.
7. I don't get it? Seems like a ton of work, hacking, some guessing, and luck to get this thing barely working. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool feature and I have respect for those willing to try it but it seems like it's not worth all the hassle when it seems most of you now have a less reliable gun and a new piece added that I strongly question it's long term durability after being repeatedly bent/shaved. In fact, this thread has made me decide to stay away for now and I doubt I'll reconsider unless businesses like Tromix start offering it. Until then I'll let all you guys be the guinea pigs...
8. If the Saiga 12 ends up safe in the end and all this worry is for nothing I'm really curious how low they will start selling for. I imagine there are a ton of Saigas being sat on right now, all pending the outcome. One way or another the current prices are probably the midpoint. If nothing happens I could see them drop as far as $350 by some desperate individuals, but if they are banned it's anyone's guess how far they'll climb. Just look how cheap ARs can be found now. After the election a Colt 6920 sold easily for $2000, now I've seen a few as low as $850.
9.
Fear of spending a fortune, only to have the ATF change their minds and classify it as a DD 3 months after it hits the market.

Great point, thanks.
10.

I would understand if there was a reason for this but why? Alot easier to copy/improve a working design than to spend tons of R&D money on a completely new platforms. I mean look at Chinese

Why, because we already have the Saiga 12 and I own 3 of them. I like innovation that comes from companies like KAC and don't mind paying extra for something different, yet high quality. Keltec knows innovation but l
11. Forget cloning the Saiga 12, my bigger question is why has no one else tried making their own version/new design of a semi-auto magazine fed shotgun?! I saw that someone recently did an AR type clone but why has it taken this long and why don't we have more options in this configuration? Is there some aversion to a magazine fed shotgun to most?
12. Keep it up guys, you're almost there! All we need is one or two more posts and I think we'll convince him to change his mind, apologize, and see things like us. In fact, if we barrage him for another page perhaps we can even get him to buy one for $800 off of gunbroker
13. Wow I'd love to convert mine to one of these. Can't imagine how much it would cost in the end though...
14. if i had to guess, i would say that not enough people know about the saiga. i was under the impression that it hadnt even been out for very long anyway That would be my guess as the biggest factor as well. Most of my friends and family knew little to nothing of the Saiga 12 until I told them about it recently. Now most of them bought one after seeing mine The current demand combined with Sons of Guns will hopefully help. Guess we should all spread the word as well. The more gun owners the better in my opinion.
15. I've seen them here and there over the years and wanted one but it wasn't high on my priority list of guns I wanted to buy. I thought they were somewhat ugly but like thed idea of a magazine fed shotgun.I also was not aware of how they could be converted. It wasn't until I heard the first rumor about the ATF study that I did more research and came across the Tromix website. When I saw what could be done with them I felt like an idiot for not knowing sooner and couldn't bring my wallet out fast enough. Ended up getting 2 of them for $489 each and convinced my brother and father to each get one
16. oops....didn't see that one. Sorry for the dupe. Even though I try to search before posting I'm either a master at dupes or am horrible at searches.
17. What?!?!......but they were so close to convincing each other's to change their mind
18. Good point. I got into the Saiga 12 after the MD 20 so I can see how the availability of cheaper/larger capacity mags could have a major impact. I'm guessing another reason that they aren't as popular as I would expect is that they don't receive any real advertising like most of the popular firearms out there. Seems like a lot of people's experience is either by chance of seeing one in a shop or by word of mouth. I also feel like the shotgun world is one of the most snobbish in the realm of firearms. The Saiga 12 to many of them is an ugly black sheep in their mind compared to all their f
19. I know things have changed recently but why hasn't the Saiga 12 gained near the popularity with the average shooter as most other shotguns? It is such a great platform in my opinion and doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves. I really cant think of a shotgun that i enjoy more and most people seem to come to the same conclusion upon shooting one. Is it mostly that many people are not aware of the ability to convert it (I used to be in this category) or that its too unfamiliar and non traditional (my father had this perspective)? Just wondering why it took the fear of losing them for th
20. Still in production last I heard but already approved to come in once finished. I'm guessing July but that's purely my guess. If you want one you'd better get in on the preorder since only 200 will be making it here and I highly doubt you'll be able to get one once they're actually here if you don't. I can't wait to get mine and there's quite a few people on the list already.
21. Ummmm this afternoon about 3:30? lol lol...good for you. I'm also lucky enough to have this happen on a consistent basis as my wife is hot as hell (not posting pics) but MOST people are not as lucky as us.
22. Just normal every day marketing. How many worlds best coffee, burger, etc places do we have out there? Just watch a commercial. When's the last time a hot woman came with your beer?
