  1. so i'm thinking about making myself a saiga sticker for my truck. nothing too big.. kind of in the spirit of those ubiquitous oval stickers. i whipped up a few ideas, and wanted some input. which one do you like best... i think i set the poll up for multiple answers, so if you can't decide between two, you can pick both.
  2. yep, just jbweld. if it doesn't hold up, i figure i'll re-do it with a short length of metal tubing embeded in the center of the jbweld. for your 16", why dont you drill a hole in the retainer to pass the rod thru. then you could actually use the cleaning rod. i'm looking for a longer rod to use on mine, so it will be functional. that cleaning rod is regular ak length, it's just for looks right now... does anyone know where i can find a 22" cleaning rod?
  3. The cleaning rod retainer has held up fine so far, but I've probably only put 100 rds thru it in this configuration. Time will tell, i guess. I've thought about putting an RPK furny set on. It is sort of shaping up that way, isn't it? As for the scoring on the HG's you have a good idea, but the damage is done. I'll definitely give it a shot before putting any new furny on it.
  4. you ain't kidding about fuel guzzling. but i wouln't say they're lemons... at least my 95 isn't. at 14mpg i dont think i could afford any repair bills.. lol
  5. Every time i think i've finished my .308, I do more shit to it. It's like a damn compulsion. Here's some of the stuff I've done to it. I loved the function of the BHO, but the button was longer than it needed to be, and rubbed on my trigger finger. Even when it was engaged, the button still protruded beneath the receiver. To fix this, I engaged the BHO, and scribed a line on the button where it met the receiver. then i removed the BHO and ground it down to that line, and then rounded the corners a bit. Now it doesn't hit my finger, and when it's engaged, you can barely see the button
  6. i like your dream car, macbeau. if you get one, grab one for me too... lol here's my shitbox... '95 dakota
  7. i'm an underemployed carpenter with a vinyl sign shop to fill in the slow times. i also do a little website work for a few local companies (i know.. who doesn't do a little web work these days).
  8. i agree with your prediction, and your interperetation. either outcome would be very bad for those of us that understand the TRUE reason for the 2nd ammendment. this might be the election that i return to voting libertarian... because as much as i hate hillary, i just couldnt bring myself to vote for mccain/giuliani. we'll see though. it's not like my vote matters as my states electoral college votes will undoubtedly go to hillary.
  9. i'm just going to keep telling myself it can't happen. it won't happen. it can't happen. it won't happen. it can't happen. it won't happen...
  10. nice indy...black suit and a white tie... that really is the ''sleep with the fishes'' look. goes well with jimmy stikx as the long lost blues brother. enough to make a caveman feel like a slob.
  11. looks real good. are the galil grips angled enough to avoid the mag insertion problems common to the amd rifles? what was the base rifle?

  13. macbeau, is it true that those critters carry lepracy... hence the glove?
  14. edit... the first 2 pics are more of a deterrent than anything else... the hi-point is great at short range, and the ol' ranger repeating shotgun just happens to be my shortest shotgun.
  15. i figured it crashed because i finally sent a contribution and thedatabase thought the world had ended.
  16. bossman, thank you so much! that just fixed the occasional (once or twice per mag) doubling problem in my yugo m90a. ran 90 rds thru it yesteray after shaving the bottom of the disconnector and all went perfectly. great and simple solution.
  17. ain't no bullet guide in a .308
  18. i never said muslim extremists werent a threat. i just believe that there is a temptation among those in power to use the fear of said attacks to erode our freedoms. even if they're only using these new and far-reaching powers on muslim extremists as per the typical profile, its one step down a slippery slope. what if some adventist cult does something whacked? will there be a new profile of white christian gunowner? it's back to my original question... how much freedom are you willing to surrender for the illusion of safety? we all have to answer that question our own way. my ans
  19. looks good... matching is a good thing.
  20. well, as the resident libertarian, i have to ask the question: "how much freedom are you willing to give up for the illusion of security" my answer is none. you may think big brother is here to protect you, but i'm fairly sure he's just going to give me a noogie.
  21. omg, an amd brake on a .308... that's gotta be LOUD. looks cool
