  1. You are a moron. Ha ha. Call me whatever you want, pal, but I didn't send my valuable parts off to some drunk never to see them again. So who's the moron, again? In case it hasn't dawned on you yet, you had better learn to laugh at this because that is all you are ever going to get back out of it, which was the whole point of my post. I said that I understand if you don't think it's funny. I'm not a moron, you're just pissed at your own self. Well, a bunch of folks sent their parts off to a person who cultivated a great reputation in many places, including this forum. Pauly did great w
  2. true, but in this case there are no firearms, just parts, call me cynical, but after seeing how the "justice system" basically gave a pass to the gooch, who did steal firearms and money to the tune of 10s of thousands of dollars, I wouldn't be holding on to any hope for a knight in shinny armor coming to the rescue over some parts. I suppose the people that lost billions with Madoff thought that they would get their money back too, and we see how that turned out. I'm as cynical as you, and more than the next guy. One difference between BCG's and most gun parts is at least BCG's hav
  3. serial number on parts can easily be scrubbed, which is legal to do as it's only parts not a receiver. Well, that would leave a mark...and the stamped marks would be recoverable. The FBI, among others, is good at that. Sure, they're not receivers, but just like stolen TV's, they can be traced, and then a crime may be established. States attorneys tend to have a "thing" about crimes involving firearms.
  4. Agreed, especially since the parts Pauly took in are all serialized. Having observed that obtaining replacement parts from Izhmash is neigh impossible, I am exceptionally curious. The only source of genuine Izhmash parts in this country of which I am aware is used guns being parted out. I cast no aspersions and make no allegations, and only believe that folks need to be very cautious regarding their parts sourcing. There are lots of things a person can do that may cost them the right to own firearms.
  5. Anyone trading in parts that belong to others (like the BCGs listed above) may be investigated for receiving stolen property. Sellers and buyers alike, be very careful! OTOH, anyone aiding in the recovery of missing property may be rewarded, and certainly not charged under the law.
  6. Either way, ship the clothes, and max out on your ammo carry. You're going home, you might have other things to wear until your clothes show up.
  7. man, you're so all over the place with this, you need more light then everybody combined. best for you to do is just stop throwing in wild haired things to try to make your un-valid points valid Says the man from Cleveland Why the hell wont Pauly send the parts back? Because they are no longer in his possession. If this is it, that would be a REAL problem for him.
  8. Here's where the law gets interesting. If the parts are determined to be stolen, while the landlord may have possession of the parts, he can't take ownership of the parts, because a thief doesn't have title to the goods, so the landlord doesn't get title to the goods. A lawyer wish to chime in on this?
  9. No, I appreciate it for what it is, a report that the man is still upright and taking nourishment. That's a good thing. Just as a general observation, and maybe a small rant, but, again, as it regards everyone's BCG's, we're still little better than radio silence. We don't have any idea in which direction this situation is moving, if it's moving at all. I don't want anyone to think I'll take a dump in their kit if they have information to contribute.
  10. OK, I opened the gun safe and here's what I found. 24" barrel, 2-port, 2009 production Saiga 12. One port measured 0.093", the second measured between 0.070" and 0.080". Thinking back a few years when I did the conversion and had Pauly do the Glass Bolt, I drilled one of the ports to 0.093", then thought I should stop right there, put everything back together, and test the gun before doing any more drilling. Gun worked fine, so I left well enough alone. That tells me the factory ports were, yes, between 0.070" and 0.080". YMMV.
  11. Well, I'm not about to step on anyone's trouser snake for bringing us info, but I feel like I'm watching a tease for a TV network's next great program...just enough to make me want to stay tuned, but not a whole lot more. Thanks, Cobra, for letting us know Pauly is alive. All the angst aside, I wish the man well. That's on the personal side. On the BCG side, we are looking for more than "stay tuned." Is there a plan? Does anyone know the "plan"? If so, will the plan be revealed?!
  12. What's most disconcerting is everyone checking in recently reports radio silence. We don't even know if Pauly is alive right now.
  13. I have a 24" barrel, 2 port gun, 2009 production. I'll try to measure the ports tonight. It received a Pauly Glass Bolt polishing, Tapco FCG (with profiles hammer), etc. Gun eats everything I feed it, 3 dram skeet loads through magnum slugs. You'll see a common theme from the pros around here. Be very careful about making changes that can't be undone. Make sure your BCG and hammer are worked over before you start enlarging holes.
  14. Do A LOT of reading here before you touch another tool. There is much to learn, and some mistakes are difficult to undo.
  15. Thank you for sharing this. Having trouble seeing my keyboard right now.
  16. If you want, I'd be happy to send you my own bolt/bolt carrier in the interim if you wish, sir... Thank you, Juggernaut, for your generous offer to TSquare, You see, TSquare is my pop! Happy Birthday again, dad. Like V8rx7's experience, in 2011 I called Pauly and we couldn't get off the phone. After about an hour, we ended our call, and I felt comfortable sending him money and THREE BCG's for Glass Bolt service, and the new trigger groups for polishing. Sure enough, it took I don't recall how many months to get everything back, but it was worth the wait. All three Saiga 12's p
  17. Patent maintenance fees are nothing compared to the legal costs of getting the patent in the first place. It's pretty cheap keeping a patent alive. Of course, someone may design a work-around that makes a patent nearly worthless. That's the risk of sitting on your hands. On the other hand, a patent-holder who does not manufacture the item himself might license the technology to a manufacturer for a fee. Maybe Mike is thinking about that.
  18. Chore Boy all copper scouring pad wrapped around a bronze bore brush or cotton mop. There is all-copper Chore Boy, and copper-plated steel Chore Boy. Use a magnet to tell the difference and get the right one. Rips lead out pronto.
  19. So, were the TSA guys happy when you were done with their X-ray machine>
  20. Yup, but then I'd remind them that if I need a fire extinguisher, or even worse, an automatic external defibrillator (AED), I also have a really big problem, and I'd be happier than hell to have those things close at hand, too! Edit: I'm quoting posts 3 and 6, but the quote function isn't working.
  21. Like the Zorg ZF-1 and its replay button, where you take one shot, and replay sends every following shot to the same location!
  22. At these prices, there's no reason to wait. How much more could prices fall? Not much. How much can they go up if another idiot goes nuts in a theater/school/mall? Don't wait.
  23. Nice choice. I love mine!
  24. Just Googled their site and it appears to be down. Nice job putting a stop to s**t like this! I've bought quite a bit from our good companies here, don't have time for these parasites.
