car battery chargers
AE86FL replied to mpoppel41's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
if the battery is bad and not taking/keeping charge, one can have 1000Kamp charger but the battery is still dead or too weak to crank/start the engine. check and replace the battery and check the alternator. -

Any Ham/CB Operators Here?
AE86FL replied to gunman1's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
As Patriot mentioned "tower grounded". a solid grounding system is needed for lightning protection. it utilized mulitple grounding points with equal ground potential. quality lightning arrestors on all incoming feedlines is a must. -

you did a good job on your tower. it is time to work on a very good grounding system. and copper is expensive. -

Maco-3, your setup reminds me my old cushcraft ten-3. if you like to have both polarizations, have you considered to use something like the Moonracker 4 (Maco's Shooting Star 8 Element or Comet 6 Element Beam)? -

I am not worry too much about the 5 rd mag for now. If the AWB with shotgun 5rds limit becomes real, there will be a need of 5rd mag for the market. The factories that are producing 8, 10,12rds mag will make 5rd mag to capture the market. I can understand there maybe a shortage of low cap mags for awhile when the factories now in turbo mode pumping out as much as high cap mags to capitalize the situation.

My postive experience with the 995TS shows me that it is a good weapon especially if the AWB begin (back to the 10 rds limitation) and when the ammo is no where to be found like during 2008-9. I was still able to find 9mm at walmart back then.

Hi-Point has well known no question asked life time warranty (no matter it is new or resell). Send it back to factory for repair and you will get an extra mag for your trouble as compensation. I have the 995TS for years and enjoyed every range time shooting it. Never gives me any issue and quite accurate for a pistol caliber carbine. Mine is a 9mm; it is easy for my other family members to handle and easy for my wallet. It is proudly made in the USA. The weakest link for the Hi-Point firearms is their mag design. However, do not bother with the after market mag especially the ProMag 15rds;

Very interesting system integration, you have got a fun and practical project there. FL has numbers of bridges that can utilize your system. Good luck with your venture. -
Classic Arms NC Saiga Sporter 7.62 X 39 Model I.D.??
AE86FL replied to bluezguy's topic in Saiga 7.62 X 39
I bought the converted IZ132 saiga 7.62 from the Classic Arm pass thanksgiving. It is not an Arsenal SGL but their local shop converted sagia. 900rds mix of silver bear and M67 so far, it functions well. no complaint. -
Wondering if the 223 or the 5.45 mags will clear the trigger guard since these mags are not as curvy as the 7.62 mag, just a though.
-
No 30rd mag; that is a deal breaker for me.

New to the forum and need a bit of advice on my 223 setup
AE86FL replied to Zsolt67's topic in Saiga .223
From the picture, your saiga 223 has been converted and restored back to the AK configuration. You really need the T6 stock for regular AK (not for Saiga ). I am not sure if you can remove the pistol grip from your current T6 stock just using the stock. Other with T6 stock experience maybe able to help. -
Indy, is there any interference issue with the siderail bracket on the reciever to the stock or the trigger rod?
-
Very interesting project and write up. I have a Saiga 223 NIB undecided what conversion to do with it. These pullpup write-ups lately steer me to pullpup direction. I think it will be fun for my 223 project. I have 3 concerns: 1) The integrity of the stock mounting holes that connect to the gas block and the receiver. In the picture, they look flimsy. 2) Mounting rail options for sights? 3) As mentioned before, any bolt-on extension for uncut tang?

During this firearm inflation moment, get a few of tapco ak74 mags to play and to test function while waiting for the next big shipment and the milsurp mag price to easy off. .

Just Pick up my Saiga 223 from the FFL yesterday. It is the backorder item from J&G sales which is their new shipment. My S-223 has dimples on the receiver.
