  1. 1st gen 4-runner or FJ60. Those things are tanks. If you don't mind the size, get a pre-97 F150 or Bronco. Simple top fix, and take a lot of abuse.
  2. I paid $400 OTD for my NIB 2009 SGL 21-61 in 2011. Of course.....shop owed me a favor and sold it to me for $50 over what they gave on it trade-in. At that time, an Arsenal, NV converted Saiga went for MSRP of $950.
  3. Nice. I had one of those IJ-70's years ago, and stupidly sold it. It actually had less recoil than my bud's Walther PPK. The IJ-70 only came in 9x18 MAK and .380. The 9mm NATO were custom shop guns. ETA: the original finish was a hot blue job. If you google around, there is a stump remover you can heat up and use to re-blue metal.
  4. That was an old black powder shell. I have several in my collection. I fired one in my old single shot. Plenty of fire/smoke, then dumped the shot out of the barrel.
  5. When JJ Abrams did the Star Trek reboot, he had the actors watch the original series. They even got the Kirk "leg flip" right. Yes, Kahn was a douche, but the movie was overall good. Watching Ep 7 with the youngest on his 18th next week.
  6. In honor of all of us who lave lost 4-legged friends.... Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams o
  7. I thought you couldn't have firearms in a house if a felon lives there? That has been a gray area. If the purchaser is not a felon, then they can pass a 4473. They don't ask who's in the home. Now if she had of bought it and gave it to him, then the state would have fried her for giving it to him.
  8. Sadly, this happens a lot, and results in someone's life being forever altered by gun violence. I was in a similar situation years back. Wife's friend had a hubby who had a felony conviction for assaulting a cop. She bought a gun, but kept it in her purse. One weekend, she had a diabetic stroke while at our place. I removed her gun from her purse before returning it to her husband. He starts ranting and raving at the hospital that her gun is missing. When the cops arrived, I explained he was a convicted felon, and I would return her firearm once she was released from ther hospital. Cop
  9. They honestly don't know. Too many have changed hands, been built, and handed down. Just the AK kits alone could be in the tens of millions.....or more.
  10. Well, I like it because it keeps the FUDDs off the range. Nothing like a relaxing day bundled up like an eskimo with the range all to yourself. PS: wife found the pic. She is a big cat lover.
  11. What's that old saying about never challenge a man with nothing left to lose?
  12. Getting our first snowfall here. 2" on the ground, and still coming down. One car in the ditch off the interstate.
  13. When I was junk yarding back in the day, I came across a Raven .25ACP under the driver's seat. I ran the numbers, came back clean, I claimed after 30 days. I traded it at a hock shop for an SKS. Little booger ran flawless, but didnt care for the ergos.
  14. Yeah. I think this nails it. It wasn't an anti-black attack. It was an anti-christian attack. There have been a lot more of these than really get reported, probably because several of them have been interrupted by private armed citizens. I carry at church, and I know others do at mine too. IMO hostility towards christians, particularly from apostates is on the increase. While I think mass killings of any type occupy an exaggerated space in the public consciousness including that of gun guys like us, I do expect open violent attacks against churches to become a growing trend in the USA. Pe
  15. A spare mag? I carry 6 for my 1911, and 6 more in the GHB. Most guys I know carry two minimum.
  16. I'll second a dud/weak primer. I had some "panic era" Wolf that I had 30 FTF in 1K. As others have said, mass produced ammo will have duds on occasion.
  17. My '09 SGL21-61. I know what it is capable of, and it will go to my youngest son.
  18. I can add my "new" ride to the list. '93 F-150XL 4.9L(300 I-6)/5 speed. Bought it at 198K, just rolled it over 230K. Doesn't use any oil, and runs like a raped ape.
  19. As we say here, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I grew up around the Montgomery area, and have seen many Darwin award winners over the years.
  20. More and more, people are waking up. He is about to learn the same lesson Japan did after Pearl. The sleeping giant awakes.
  21. My wife thought I was bonkers for buying crate after crate of M67 when it was $99-$129 per 1260. During the 2012 panic, I flipped 4 cases for $500 each, and paid off her truck. Buyer made the offer, and I bit. Traded another 2 cases for 10K of .22LR with 1K of .45ACP the buyer didn't need. She stopped bitching after that. Once things settled down, I was picking up AK mags as cheap as $1 each at garage/estate sales. Best deal was a large paper ream box crammed full for $50, and a WASR 10/63 for the wife for $125 at an estate sale(she says no pics, so no pics). Kids just wanted to dump it
