I'm working on another range trip in the near future to do a decent paper print. When I took it out the first time, I was running some Hornady SST, Federal Fusion, and Silver Bear 125gr. At 100yds, I could bust 3" clays without any effort using the scope. At 200yds, I was ringing the 8x8 gong with every shot, both irons and scoped. It started raining on us, and couldn't retrieve the 50yd sight-in target. With the 3 loads used, I shredded the center diamond on a Redfield target. I recently broke down and purchased a membership for the private range, and plan on seeing the 300yd capability

A few months ago, I picked up one of the CAI M64 mixmasters locally. After I installed a scope rail and scope, it was on par with a DMR rifle. Well, after poking around a few other forums, I decided to give her a makeover. First, I knocked off the bipod. The FSB came off fairly easy, so the hard part was done. A member on another forum makes repro AKMN FH(used with NV optics), so ordered one of those. Next, I got lucky and found one of the old unfinished Romy PSL-style stocks from the Klinton era. To my surprise, it slid right on with only a few passes of a file on the trunnion cutouts.

I got lucky today. 2K Golden Tiger off the local bulletin board for $150, and he tossed in 10 AK mags. Dope got busted for DUI, and had to pay out he ass. If you get the propane genny, get one with the NatGas jets as well. In some areas, the NatGas pumps have Natgas backups. I'm on a well, and have a 12V pump as backup. Coupled it with a "lawn mower genset".

Thought I'd give a little update. Title should have been M64....lol. Got the side rail installed, and slapped the Centerpoint 3-9x off my son's .308 on it. Dialed it in for a 50/200 zero, and tried several loads. It really liked Federal Fusion and Hornady SST. I actually cloverleafed the Fusion at 50, and groups were under 2"@100yds. Irons at 100 yielded typical 3-4" groupings on Wolf/Tula, and shot a solid 5" spread on 30 rounds of M67. I plan on a solid 200yd paper print next trip. So far, it's a textbook DMR rifle. I bought 2 10 packs, and had the same issue as Arik on a few. I simply used the round end of my tire tool for the bike, locked the mag in a vise to keep from deforming the bottom end, and massaged the dent out enough for the follower to clear. I've had to do this with steel mags that had been dropped or banged around empty as well. On a side note, a couple of the SG mags did have minor surface rust. Hit them with some steel wool and touched up with Tetra cold blue.

The only parts that won't interchange are the recoil spring, barrel, and bolt(and related bolt parts). Member on another forum rebarreled his 74 to 47 caliber, and this was all he changed.

Yep. I have an Arsenal Saiga SGL21-61 I bought in 2010. I slapped a Kalinka mount and a NcStar 2-6x32mm compact sniper scope on it. After the initial 25yd sight in, I decided on a 50/200 zero. Dialed it in on the 50 yd mark, ran the zoom all the way down to 2, aimed for the small diamond, and....... First round is the low/left hole, as I screwed up on my breathing technique. This was on Silver Bear 125gr SP. Federal Fusion 123gr brought it down to a nickle sized group at 50. At 200, the groups were still minute of deer kill in the 4" diamond. The rifle:

Black bears will usually run unless it's momma with cubs, and then takes a hell of a lot to provoke her. They do go in town occasionally here. First time, they are sedated, tagged, then relocated. If they return, it's a death sentence. Stryker, I've heard of a few in my area having success with grizzlies and the "Lysol candy bar".
