I never got close enough to the front to run in to the reinforcement.I vented the handgaurd and used it until I finished my conversion.

I have been looking at that barrel from apex and one from Atlantic bulgy chrome lined with the gas port already drilled.I have very little tools so I am trying to spread my budget between parts and tools. I am excited to build my own unregistered AK but now it is looking to cost more than just buying a new rifle.

I'm tryin to save money anywhere I can, especially beings this is my first AK build. I've always wanted to know the real technical pros and cons of chrome lined or not.

I am about to buy a barrel for my AK build and was wondering if hands down I should buy a chrome lined barrel or get one that isn't and save 30$ . I always hear chrome lined is better but I don't know exactly why.I have a mini 14 that doesn't have a chrome lined barrel it shoots great I have put 2000 plus rounds through it and the rifling still look sharp someone educate me.pros and cons of both.

The first AK was a stamped receiver then they went to milled.

Can you switch the crutch from the maadi to a standard stock without modification to the rear trunnion/receiver.

I bought 2 sets of the 25.00 Bulgarian surplus that Smeeg is talking about and I think it was a better deal than tapco timber.You can make the bulgy anyway you want it for quarter the price of tapco.Apex is where to get bulgy surplus if anyone didn't know. -

I was wanting advice on the maadi kits Atlantic just got in stock.I have been wanting to build my own kit AK for awhile now and the only two kits I can find right now are romy G's and now atlantic has maadi crutch folders in stock for 219.00 what would be the best of the two.

If it was me i would put all wood furniture on it i always liked the authentic look but out of your two choices i would go mako.

I have six promag 24 rounders for my s308 and have never had an issue i think there great inexpensive mags.

I'm not sure yet. as you can see i have moved the fsb back just don't want to spend the money on the threading tools that will only get used once.suggestions welcome for muzzle brake threaded 17x1 when I get/borrow tools.

I finally finished moving my front sight block back one pin on my s308 and i am ready to thread it i was wondering if somebody has the tools to do this for rent or for sale.I would rather rent them since I only need to do this once. my barrel od is .671 so I think I need to thread it 17x1 RH if anybody could help that would be great

I used Rustoleum engine paint on my saiga and it looks great matches almost perfect sorry you had a bad experience.

my handguard wasn't steel reinforced on my 308

I cant say about the quadrail but i bought a utg bipod and it is complete junk when I fold or unfold it feels like it will snap if i put to much presure on it and the paint is flaking off
