i finally finished....whew!!!....it's not hard.....but it's not easy either....i was afraid i was gonna mess it up but once i got into it i understood everything and at that point it just became time consuming...you need a dremel with some heavy duty cutting wheels....and some good drill bits, these receivers are tough to drill....it's all together and i'm gonna test fire it tomorrow.

ok here is what i was told monday nite by the manager of the range where i shoot......the BATF **who by the way has been in there everyday for the last few weeks doing an audit on them** uses a dowel just like you say but they measure from the breech face not the end of a shotgun shell...so all you have to do is close the bolt on an empty chamber and measure the dowel as it rests on the breech face.....the chamber counts as part of the barrel length....this came as an answer to a direct question to a BATF agent on how to measure barrels on shotguns to make sure their complient.....the question

so if you cut off one of the hooks then it works fine?....i ordered the dbl hook and i just called tapco and it has already shipped so either i'd have to send it back or modify the receiver or cut off a hook....if cutting off one of the hooks will do it then i'll just do that....m249 grip is coming too as well as a trigger guard from k-var....haven't decided on a stock yet....liking the ace skeleton style....

only the single hook?? i just ordered a usa made g2 double hook fire control group.....will the dbl hook work??....and yes where did you find that stock?..i like it!!

oh really???....that's funny....he sent me 8 of them and not only did i not get any flak about it but it was also very fast shipping....less than a week....and yes they function great!!! came out to about $65 each....

yes actually after the first 6 rounds go off i should have better control of the machine gun by then.....the remaining 34 rounds should be right on target...

ken i guess you've seen that in the match coming up this weekend they have placed us in an open class separate from the autos and pumps...they're scared of us...those wussies!!

you can shoot slugs in a full choke 22" barrel...i do it all the time... have shot hundreds thru it..just make sure you shoot the foster type slugs and not the sabot type...you'll be fine...

oh come on ken....don't be talkin' all that crazy sh!t.... no really...i wouldn't know cuz i only use mine for competition...for HD i use a mossberg pump cuz i know as soon as i shoot someone with it , it'll be confiscated as evidence ...and i might have a match coming up the next weekend so i can't have that happening now can i?? i can do without the mossberg for a bit if necessary....or even replace it if needed cuz they're cheap....well i guess the saigas are too but those 8 round mags ain't.... for home defense use a gun you won't mind losing when the cops show up......and for god'

i have a hi-vis front post on my saiga 12 but the threads don't match up....you'd need to use some jb-weld to mount it ....works great!!

assassin... i compete in 3 gun matches all the time using my saiga and i see guys with 8 round mags all the time...unfortuneately finding them is very hard and the ones who have them won't let go of them....if and when you iron out all these issues and are willing to ship some over the big pond to the usa i will be interested in about 5 or more at that price.....you may email me directly at mickporno@yahoo.com if you like.....thanx

******************************************** i've shot the foster style slugs thru my 22" full choke barrel with no ill effect...why??....i use this gun almost exclusively for competing in 3-gun matches...every one i've done so far has said "NO STEEL SHOT"....and you are almost always required to shoot some slugs in the normal course of fire....you guys need to stop whining and just shoot the damned guns....if my barrel blows up i'll let you know.....

****************** yeah the TASCO pdpv5 **or something like that...i forget the model #...** is what i have on my saiga....the BSA is on the mossberg persuader....***...I'M SO CONFUSED...***.....and the height of the tasco is perfect....mounted the HI_VIS green fiber optic dot front sight before i mounted the red dot scope....which is why i wanted so badly to still be able to use the iron sights......i'll post a pic soon....got a camera just need to snap a few pics....

******************************** well i think that's my point...i wanted one that i could see under well enuff to use the iron sights too...if i wanted a low mount i wouldn't have bought this one...i have another that has the 1" rings integrated into the mount....it is much lower...too low for what i wanted to use it for....in addition the red dot i have mounted on it is a 30mm tube....so i needed one with a weaver mount....
