  1. Same here. File, test-fit and file again. No worries RC
  2. Yeah I saw that. Kinda like the look he had on his face on 9/11 when they told him the news in that classroom...
  3. Make sure your hammer spring hooks are straddling the trigger arms properly. Like this
  4. To lower your shot group you want to raise your front sight...counter clockwise To move the grouping left you want to drift the front sight to the right. Edited to show a proper sight picture!!!
  5. "Russia insists it has been acting as a peacekeeper in South Ossetia, rejecting Georgian accusations that it has been supplying arms to the separatists." So that's where the last shipment went. And while I don't agree with Bean above I cannot really argue against him.
  6. My G2 does the same thing but it is getting better. In the meantime I like to think of it as a poor-mans "bolt hold open" (BHO)
  7. If you post a pic it might help us but I ran into this problem myself so I will chime in. For me the receiver block was hanging up on the rear-most rivet in the receiver. This prevented me from sliding it all the way it flush with the back of the receiver--I was coming up short a little over a quarter inch. So, I brought everything over to the bench grinder and slowly took some material off of the receiver block until it fit snug. Also, you cannot have your pistol grip installed! The block will hang up on the top of the nut. Maybe you bent your receiver while drilling and banging o
  8. It depends on where I am going and what I am doing--but it is usually the Beretta knife which has a really neat opening mechanism. You slide that little round knob back and the blade pops out. Not an automatic like my Colonial M724...but it def won't get me in a jam with johnny law if I ever have to use it. The Beretta Depends on the mood....
  9. CenterfireSystems has them for $449.00. I really do not think you will find one for $335 but you can only hope
  10. Look on the side of the "tool capsule" that came with your rifle. It will have a properly sized notch that is made just for lifting up on that latch. It makes it a piece of cake, seriously...try it before you grab you pliers.
  11. You know... I am thinking back to when I sailed a lot in college. We had some really cheap but very durable dry bags for our radios. the bags had a neck lanyard too. The shape and size of the bag would probably lent itself well to holding a 4 inch barreled revolver. Just food for thought.
  12. And the Ace mechanism is top-notch. You will be pretty happy with it.
  13. If you break it I'll buy it Just teasing ya. It is easy. Just take your time, lay your tools out and have a clean-uncluttered space to work in with plenty of light and you will be fine.
  14. Well, if you live in a state that has an assault weapons ban still then a pre-ban rifle might be a good way to go if you want all the evil toys on it..... I have a hard time believing that with the fall of the iron curtain in the 90's that there were many pre 94 rifles imported. I certainly hope he isn't trying to pass off a no-ban as a pre-ban. Im not willing to pay 700 for it but please PM me his info anyway.
  15. Yeah, freaking CT right Twinsen. I live in RI on the CT border and you all have some nice clubs but I wont join. How did the state legislator ever get away with a ban on the 7.62 cartridge? All the while allowing NFA items.
  16. Now I knew we had problems on the border and I had heard this story of the confrontation today but I never knew that there was a rash of similar incidents leading up to this event. I wonder if the Minutemen have seen mexicant soldiers coming across on occasion.
  17. Back to the old "you don't have to be good, just better than everyone else" theory.
  18. If you had ever seen one of Tony's grills you would have recognized it immediately, as Joe and I did, even though you csan't see the whole thing in the pic. Yeah, come on Bob let's see the grill!!!
  19. Post deleted. 22 Shooter pointed out my blunder below. Sorry guys
  20. Sicktooth---looks like you have a sick finger That looks like it had to hurt. Back when I was a bit younger at a tender 18 I was working in the trades hanging Sheetrock. The guy I was working with was an old timer and him and I could really screw off a job quick. Anyway, the two of us were in a small walk-in closet getting it screwed up and in typical fashion both guns were running on the dead-mans switch. He put a screw on his gun just as I was turning around and I caught it right in the inside of my wrist. Went to the hospital and the Dr. took a quick look and came back with a scr
  21. Well, not to beat a dead-horse on this forum but making sure it is 922r compliant so that you can use that hi-cap mag would be a start. Dinzag has a fire control group for non-converted rifles such as yours which will give you 2 US parts. Perhaps a gas piston swap can be done, you will have the third part and 922r will be solved. http://www.dinzagarms.com/misc_parts/fcgnpg.html
  22. I dunno, I like to load up 5 and 6 30-rounders at a time and let them go. Never had a problem with my barrel, she still shoots straight when I take the time to sight in my targets.
  23. I cannot think of a reason and I do not think that you will get any circular motion of the sight base around the barrel. I have seen a lot of AR guys do that and I have always been curious myself--but what is the real drive/benefit to doing it? It is to free up space on a tac rail? Or is it so that you can use your existing sling mount to put a bi-pod on? Lets see some pics when you're done cause I am pretty curious myself. You are going to find that here on this forum we take tinkering to the next level, an extraordinary level. Some of the things that we do now a days with our conversions
  24. I agree and the facts are their that springs will not show any depreciative wear from being compressed. Heck look at Cops....they keep their mags full all the time. Some of those guys might not even touch them except for when they get issued new ammo or go to the range and qualify--and I have never heard a story of them not working when they need them to. But, conversely. Mags I don't shoot much I don't leave loaded. My cheap high-cap 10/22 mags are the main culprits and that is because I am more worried about stressing the plastic feed lips than I am the springs.
  25. "Edit: 22-shooter beat me to the punch while I was typing this." So you are saying that when you fire it the bolt does not cycle? At all.... But that it cycles fine by hand. That sounds like a critical malfunction that would be on the level of a completely blocked gas port. Since you say that it functions by hand the gas block would be my only suggestion. I theorize that there is something plugging it up. After you have unloaded the rifle and field stripped the bolt//gas piston out of it use the multi-tool that came with the rifle to operate the lever on the right hand side of th
