  1. looks like a clamp on bipod. I could deduce that much...but where is it from? You see some clamp on ones every now and again for AKs but you read the customer reviews and there is a lot of bitching that they dont fit. I don't mind shimming it up a little bit, but I refuse to mill it out.
  2. When I lived on Long Island the gun shops there all had racks of aks, sks and ar15s with bayo lugs, brakes/suppressors and buckets full of hi-cap mags...I never asked any questions and probably didnt get told any lies. I never looked close enough to tell if the muzzle pieces were screwed on or welded.
  3. Guys, out of curiousity and searching proved futile. Is this made in the USA? I didnt see anyone write it so I am guessing not. Im not going to need it for compliance but just curious.
  4. 22 Shooter, thanks bro. I dropped the ball on that one. Being from NY, do you recommend any specific comps? Are there any comps that are questionable as far as being considered a flash supressor is concerned? Who in the State has the final ruling on if its a comp or a flash supressor? Are there any comps that might function a little as a supressor?
  5. Im not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, but I do not believe you are under any obligation to keep that casing. It is yours to reload if ya want. Furthermore, I cannot fathom S&W having their own database without being compelled to do so by the courts and the antis. As GOB said, the state of maryland spends a tremendous amount of money on their database and for S&W to keep one would surely drive up the price of that $500 M&P (a fine sidearm by the way) that we are seeing in every shop these days. Besides, a database of those sorts are useless without a full and complete
  6. Two Kudos. Nicely done and an appropriate write up.
  7. Smith and Wesson and all new firearms include the casing for states that keep a ballistic database. The fact that yours came with the casing indicates that there is no such (useless and expensive) database in your state. Enjoy your liberties! Should you purchase a new firearm WITHOUT a casing you should suspect that your state does maintain a database.
  8. This sounds a lot like NY too. Gotta love the North East USSR...uh, I mean North East USA. Allred, I firmly believe that you are right in your presumption. If it were me though, I would weld or solder it just to cover my ass to the max.
  9. As of yet...I havent, but...I do live in RI. NYC and Boston are short trips away--im sure I can find some there.
  10. Oh, that is so rotten I love it. Its almost better than my plan to hire tranny strippers for my brothers bachelor party, lol.
  11. Its not a dream cave until ya get a leather lazyboy in there
  12. Welcome David, if you stick around here long enough you'll be forgetting all about that choke and you'll be planning on cutting the barrel back to 18 1/2 and converting it over to a pistol grip config. Welcome!
  13. http://www.ihmsa.org/BATFE.htm I think you will be allright because for pistols the ATF only refers to a VERTICAL foregrip. The ATF has made the decision that a handgun with more than one grip is an AOW based on the gun a) being concealable and not meeting the definition of a "pistol" in the regulations promulgated under the NFA, since they say a pistol has a single grip at an angle to the bore. However, at least one federal court has decided that if the grip is added later, the gun is not "originally designed" to be fired by holding in more than one grip, and thus putting a second gr
  14. This is what I figured the cost of purchasing them seperately would be...and this is the best case scenario. I think I low-balled the shipping too. Tapco G2 Single Hook Trigger Group $28.99 AK Grip Screw and Bushing $7.99 ACE Side Folding Skeleton Stock with Internal Receiver Block $164.95 Tapco SAW pistol grip OR Ergo pistol grip $20.00 AK-47 Disconnector Spring (original) $4.99 AK-47 Shepherd's Crook Replacement $11.95 Total Cost if Purchased Separately, shipping not included : $238.87
  15. I dont have the M&P rifle but I have the 40cal pistol and after thousands of rounds I am still thrilled with it. Best 500 bucks I ever spent!!
  16. For a moment I thought that "little guy" was just a shadow!!!
  17. This applies at your local gun range too. I was at my local state range changing targets when I looked back and saw the range officer molesting (and rolling around on the bench) my deceased grandfathers 1908 bolt action 22....man was I furious. I would have let him pick it up and handle it maybe shoot it if he had asked but at that point I was pissed. Plus, he had men downrange and he was handling a firearm...tisk tisk.
  18. Ok, I just did a search on gas pistons and read a lot of threads. Still have some questions though because I remember seeing a how-to-change thread with pictures at one point and I could not locate it. SO there seems to be some discussion about which piston to use. the AK47 one or the AK74 one...this leaves me wondering one thing. What role if any does the shorter AK AMD-65 piston play. The AMD piston is much shorter at 5.125 inches compared to the 6 1/4 inch? piston for the 47.
  19. I love my Smith and Wesson M&P 40. I carry it daily for work and I compete in steel plate shoots with it on weekends. The interchangable grips are great for small and large hands alike. Buy American. Buy Smith.
  20. I know that Cope does not advertise on this site but I have seen their name thrown around a bit in the forum. In anticipation of receiving my parts from the Group Buy 3# I went to Copes and ordered some parts. A gas piston, a mag and a foregrip. Shipping was quick and when I had a question about my order there was a customer service agent on the phone to help me. Cope's was a pleasure to deal with and I will shop with them again.
  21. Way over-priced...but, some men have a desire to own a "ONLY ONE I KNOW OF" shotgun.
  22. Well, US made wood furniture is hard to come by but I do recall seeing some guys on this site making and selling their own. I think Tromix was and BattleRifleG3 were among them. Not sure of the wait time or production status though. Now...the site below has US made wood in stock but they are not finished/stained so you would have to do that. http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/2aprod/1zAKproduct.html I intend on getting some wood from them in the future. Check out our member Dinzag for the retainers to properly secure the foregrips and as always, make friends with the search button--a ton
