  1. You probably need a flat headed punch. The pins are probably pretty hard steel, and nails are quite soft, comparatively. +1 on the BFH Acer

  3. Sorry I got it started. I know nothing about SBRs and was thinking this was maybe a quick and easy way to get started. Acer
  4. So does that mean if I wanted to get one of these, I'd still have to send in a Form 2 and $200 and CLEO signoff and all that jazz? Or since they're already registered, it's just like any other firearm? Very curiously interested, Acer
  5. It'd help if we knew which caliber Saiga you're referring to... Not that I know when any 10-round mags will be available... Not particularly helpful, Acer
  6. I haven't gotten a good look at any piston systems, but it may have something to do with the DI just being a "pop" force, whereas the piston pushes it over a longer distance. Maybe. Like I said I haven't seen how the piston systems work, so I dunno. possibly talking out my ass, Acer EDIT: Something else, how is an AR that was converted to a piston differ from an AR that was designed from the bottom up to be piston?
  7. Maaannn, now I want one more than ever! Lookin' REAL good, man! Acer
  8. Hahaaahaa, that's awesome! IBAASTV (In Before Alliance Arm. Spins The Video) Best of luck, Acer

  10. Yeah, the 308's don't have the PG hole. :-/ What I did was hold my trigger guard and PG up next to the receiver and eyeball how far forward the PG bolt would be (coming up the center of the PG), and mark the centerline of where the bolt would be. One thing to be aware of is the angle on the PG nut. If you make the front and back of your hole vertical, the hole will be much bigger than it needs to be. I did a quick rough sketch of where mine is in Paint, along with a side view illustrating the angle. It's a rough sketch, so don't measure anything off it by any means! Hope it helps, Acer
  11. I'm no lady, but you may want to look at CZ (sub)compacts. They have a few polymer frame ones that are pretty light, and I'm a huge fan of the grip size. Just my $.02, Acer
  12. No problem buddy. A little trick with the hammer spring is to take the legs and pull them up and over the hammer "ears" and cross them to keep them out of the way and not under tension. Acer
  13. You're right, those are the only 2 pins you need to remove. Look for a little wire inside on the left side of the receiver. It's called the shepherd's crook. A flathead screwdriver does wonders here. Hope that gets you going, Acer
  14. I want to say it's something like 1:16 or something. I do know that the "ideal" weight is 168 grains. Hope that helps, Acer
  15. Well, I was gonna say the 6.5 grendel upper, but you probably don't want to get into another caliber just for that. And it sounds like you have the <100 yds range covered pretty well with the AR, Yugo, and maybe a bit farther with the SKS. I'd either go for the FAL or the AR-10. Another idea would be a bull barrel 18" or 20" .223 AR. I still like the punch of .308. It feels real good. Good luck choosing! Acer
  16. I believe the aluminum binding posts are just to fill the holes left when you convert. Acer
  17. Dang, I gotta stop reading this stuff. Makes me so mad. Angrily planning, Acer
  18. I think this might be what you're looking for. Acer
  19. So you sent of to Uncle B. and got his okay on it?? AWESOME! Acer
  20. Same here, just got the demo and I must say, it's pretty cool. The only thing that bugs me is how zombies come from places you've already cleared, but I see they've kept that from being a plot hole by leaving cracks and things in the level for them to spawn into. Acer
  21. Pretty sure you're safe. The 10-round limit is mentioned in 922®, IIRC. Acer
  22. Heh, I really doubt anyone's gonna touch this. The best advice I'd give would be to take it out of state and get someone to shorten the gas system and everything and thread and pin a barrel extension on, and weld the pin, but leave it visible. It's a sticky question. Stay safe, Acer
  23. Yay, young people unite! I'm not much older than you at 23. Hope you get it all straightened out! Acer
