  1. The Falcon arms are almost cool, but they put the hinge entirely behind the tang, making the hinge block much larger and heavier than needed, whereas we tucked our hinge under and to the side of the tang. They are both based on the same hinge design, but I feel we did a far superior job adapting it to fit an ak than they did. Left side is not available yet, but is coming soon.
  2. production actually finally finished today, and they are en route to me. Everyone should have theirs to play with by next weekend, I expect you'll see a few reviews almost immediately.
  3. The braided springs are to reduce fatigue. As springs cycle the wire twists and untwists. A larger gauge wire twists the same degree as a smaller gauge wire, but the circumference is larger, so the metal must distort farther to twist the same amount. As the gauge gets larger the distortion increases by a factor of PI. Spring life is determined by number of cycles, and level of distortion. 2 smaller springs braided together distort less per cycle, and therefore last longer.
  4. while supplies last http://www.bonesteelarms.com/Saiga-12GA-Shotgun-Trirail-cnc-23132.htm
  5. we had to increase the size of the run, there are still some being machined and I have to wait for them all to be done to get the finish grinding deburring and blackening done. Today I was informed I would have them to ship sometime next week. Sorry for the delays, things are getting harder to get out the door as of late.
  6. Last chance to get these at the special introductory price. sale ends monday 6pm est here are some pics of one I pulled off the line to play with. keep in mind this has not yet been finish ground, or blacked, the ones you receive will not have the visible marks and will have a much nicer finish. I just couldn't wait to toss one on my vepr and had to go shoot it today. It's amazing how much it really does to mitigate recoil and muzzle flip.
  7. it is perfectly legal to cut and attach without pulling the barrel. it is the same as any other gunsmithing you do. You must however perform the entire operation expeditiously. You cannot cut it and then decide to order the brake and solder. It must be perm attached in one sitting with cutting it.
  8. all of our vepr-12 stocks fit perfect, no modifications to the shotgun or stocks
  9. Doh! I just bought 4 siaga 12 5 rounders!! Sorry I wasn't trying to advocate buying a bunch of saiga 12 mags, I just noticed that mine fit and fed, and was curious as to what others have tried.
  10. I havent shot them, as I just discovered it today, but they hand cycle fine. On further inspection the front does sit much lower than the vepr-12 mag, and the feed angle is shallower, but they seem to feed fine. Maybe not the best for reliability, might not work in everyones as the feed angle is different, but seems to work in mine.
  11. I noticed that the factory 5 round rock and lock saiga mags work perfectly fine in my vepr-12 with no mods. The lrbho doesn't function but otherwise they work great. Do any u.s. made rock and locks work without mods?
  12. if you get the mag to lock in, then give the mag a few whacks on the back with your hand, it will usually fix the problem. After your new mag gets its initial wear it should lock in without effort, whacking the rear of the mag essentially speeds up the initial wear by flattening the high spots on the mag against the catch.
  13. the end of the screw is flared outward with a punch, to prevent accidental loosening. This is done on all military aks, but the vepr-12 seems to have it a little more.
  14. buttpad adds 1/2" they are 6-8 weeks out according to the injection molders.
  15. have you checked this out http://bonesteelarms.com/Vepr-12-RPK-Folding-Galil-style-stock-RPKFSGL.htm I think you will find it is a far superior design than the ace hinge if you do go with an ace style, the dph seems like a much better deal.
  16. warsaw is 9.4" measured from the reciever, same as a standard ak stock. Nato is 10.4" and entry is 8.4"
  17. We will have left side folders available soon
  18. these drop right in http://www.bonesteelarms.com/Vepr-12-RPK-folding-stock-with-integral-M4-collapsable-stock-RPKFSTB.htm
  19. with a thumbhole stock, you need one less U.S. part. The thumbhole stock only counts as one imported part against you.
  20. The vepr-12/RPK model is a direct fit vor Vepr-12s or RPKs, no shaving needed. We should have left and right folders in nato and warsaw very soon, with entries to follow later.
  21. The first one. The stock does not touch the selector in any position
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGUFnSuF-eQ
  23. No, we are unable to make the bottom any higher without compromising too much elsewhere. They sit at the same level as a galil folding stock, and should not interfere with anything.
