While i used to entertain the idea of buggin out in a SHTF, with a 2 month old, that seems a bad idea...... still i have basic bags packed just in case.....

G O B 3,516
Cruse is a wacko. Everyone knows the real threat is ZOMBIES! I will probably hunker down if practical. I have a brick house, well and septic, and a generator or 2. + a dog. allways have a couple weeks food on hand, and having my shops handy is a BIG plusAlso even tho I'm in the middle between DC, Annapolis and Baltimore, there is plenty of game here. d0lphin2 0
I just got this and their EOD bag. More than something pricy than on cheaper than dirt. The quality and engineering is awesome. I believe they are a direct contractor for the military. Check out that breaching tool too! http://www.countycomm.com/BAILOUTBAGGEN5.htm Edited September 29, 2007 by Revelation

Anyone else planing on bunkering in???? My old gun club in Commiefornia had a 100m underground rifle range that was constructed by burying 12' concrete sewer pipe 25' deep. It was awesome! We had a picnic area built on top of it with what looked like a storage room but it was really the top of the stairwell that led down to the range. Those guys really were the greatest generation. dayanx 1
I have a bugout bag behind my recliner, and have plans on how to outfit for travel. Problem is I'm in the middle of Houston, with no real place to Bugout TO. I do have a friend nearby and his wife that are like minded, and he has family in the hills by Austin, I guess I could try to cobble together a back road route there. G O B 3,516
You need an evacuation plan with alternatives. And a real 4WD.
Red Jacket 329
I've had to "bunker in " here at the store a few times , huricanes and whatnot . I keep a small travel bag in the truck , odd's and ends that have proven handy a couple time's over the decades . Bob's idea for tinfoil is well spoken , I've used that to cook small game in several times . Tinfoil , very useful item .
az_shootist 0
You need an evacuation plan with alternatives. And a real 4WD. And that "real 4wd" better have fuel trailer. I think bugging in is the best bet. That is unless environmental conditions (radiation, flooding, lack of water) force you to flee your residence. If that happens, you better hope you have a bullet proof plan and one hell of a BOB.
