corbin 621
I'm no expert, but I know my way around conversions well enough. I don't weld though, but I have a mil and lathe, and working on a decent workshop. I'm not too far from DragonWolf, Dinzag and Juggernaut. North of Flint, MI about 20-30 minutes. Paulyski 2,227
Portland Or. S-12 specialist with TIG welder & darn near every tool you can think of (no barrel thread dies)..... It CAN run well!! ETA; You bring a pack of Dremel composite cutoff disks. You handle paint or finish. If we have to do port work, the block & barrel may get scratched. macaholic 5
Okay folks, if you'e not listed on the first thread, post up in this one. Please keep in mind this thread isn't about "where is the cheapest gunsmith?" "who has the best parts?" or anything other than for folks who ware willing to help with conversions and where they are. Folks who are looking for help, check this thread, also. Hello Noliath, I just want some info regarding the proper size holes to be drilled for the trigger guard on the Saiga-12. I am planning on doing the conversion when my Form 1 comes back, and I would like to do the pistolgrip and factory Saiga-12 K trigger guard myself. What size are the holes or what size drill bits should I get to drill the holes in the reciever for the trigger guard? Also, should I get a carbide bit? I've heard these recievers are hardened steel. Please give any info you have. Thanks! Edited September 25, 2010 by macaholic

Please give any info you have. Thanks! The holes are up to you (you'll only be drilling one for the TG), depending on how you plan on attaching the TG. Since I use 8/32 cap head screws (backed with a lock washer and nut) to attach trigger guards, I drill a hole slightly larger. Carbide bits are preferable to regular bits, but I've not had any problems with the regular ones. Guess it comes down to personal preference, and what you've got on the shelf. Have fun.
