Contestant Carrie Prejean (Miss California) was asked what she thought about Vermont legalizing same sex marriage. She replied that she thought marriage should be between a man and a woman, that's how she was raised. Well, that pretty much cost her the title, but THEN, Miss USA JUDGE, Mario Armando Lavandeira, who is openly homosexual, called her a "dumb bitch" and a "cunt" and put photos of Carrie Prejean up on the internet defaced with sexually explicit drawings of penises around her face. I don't really give 2 shits about the contest, but WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH COUNTRY when shit like this goes on? My little daughter used to do this stuff and I went along with it to be a good dad but I always sat in the "pageant" mom section and laughed at the silly things the parents said. One day, when she was 8, her mom was taking her to a rehersal...walk through...I told her I was going fishing and she cried wanting to go with me instead. That put an end to the pageant crap. Perez Hilton is a no-talent, attention seeking, queer who changed his name to be similar to Paris Hilton's trying to grab headlines. This penis slobbering faggot absolutely loves the attention he is getting for this. I would just about bet Trump and Perez Hilton actually planned this question/controversy to raise ratings for the USA Pageant. First off, the pageants are a joke in general but it's not fair to condemn all the contestants just for being in one. A lot of these women were very accomplished on their own but saw this as their only way of paying for college. Hey at least they didn't go out and become strippers. Gretchen Carlson of FoxNews is a fomer Miss America. She was also valedictorian of her high school class. Now imagine if you worked hard in school and graduated at the top of your class, and yet all anyone remembers about you is that you were in a pageant, so you must be dumb. Not fair is it? I'm not talking about some kiddie porn little miss pageant with the disturbed mothers trying to whore up their pre-teen daughters to win some contest. These are adult women who chose to put themselves under intense scrutiny that few of us could endure. As for this girl in particular, I was actually pretty impressed. She's there standing in front of an auditorium full of people and she's asked a very controversial question. Despite this she doesn't give a cop out answer. She didn't talk about being naked or call out for world peace (and before anyone says anything, I once saw a pageant contestant answer the question "what can we do to help out our ecology" by calling for world peace). She's stood her ground and hasn't given in to the pressure to apologize for her beliefs. How many of us being assaulted on all sides in public can say that we'd display such grace under pressure? As far as attractiveness goes, I think she's attractive, but I think the right girl won. Then again, I'm not really into blonds. It's her life and my job is to provide for her, help her succeed and be there when she needs a friend. But I am glad she lost interest. She actually won one and got runner up three different times. She also didn't place a few times and took losing well. She turned 13 today. We still go fishing together but she will not thread the worm or take her fish off the hook. But we have fun. Does anyone know how to make them stop growing up? I shouldn't be so hard on beauty pageants. cvasqu03 made some creditable comments relating to scholarships and the hard work these girls put into it. I just feel pageants are so capricious and arbitrary. This young woman had probably dreamed of winning this beauty pageant since she was a little girl only to have this idiot Perez Hilton ask that silly self serving question.
