Nailbomb 10,221
Came out nice whatever it is. I'm just wondering about the durability of the finish. Thats a beautiful custom Deussne.
Deussne 38
Not to hijack the rail thread, but the finish is duracoat. I got a lot of different colors. SO I used Flat Dark Earth as a base. Then I cured it in the heat oven. Then with a sponge I did a layer of olive drab, some sort of brown, ACU Gray and a mix of ACU gray and Olive. You got to do all of this at the same time so that the paint does not dry. Once you do all the colors you can take a clean sponge and blend in (blur up) the outlines a little. I oven cured it afterwards again. Since I hardened this finish with heat it should last for years to come. As far as rail goes.. Man it was a bitch to mill off those sides. (That aluminum is hard) I had a full blown mill and it still took me a while. However It made the rail a little lighter which was my main concern and more slim line. I really wanted to remove 1/2 of the bottom rail as well (only leave forward half) but decided that I did not want to go though all that work with a mill again. LOL. So cudos to you Cameron for your rail durability. Edited December 11, 2011 by Deussne

gdoc89 8
Almost done!! HK sights should be here next week. Was originally going to go with the Titan rail but this came available unexpectedly so I went with it. Can always update later! Still deciding on a muzzle attachment, leaning toward a shroud....yeah, I know....the thing on the shoulder that goes up! Special thanks to Pauly for his awesome work! The very first thing I had done when I bought this. And yeah, it shoots perfect!

pjj342 632
For like 125 total this handguard is really hard to beat. Kick ass. Edited April 13, 2012 by Boomsick42
pjj342 632
Since this is the 'show off your chaos' thread I figured Id give my opinion. This is an awesome thing for a home saiga 'converter'. Alot of guys want a tactical look and an ak look, this gives you both. If you like this rail set up, you dont have to pay for a quad rail, then pay the 40-50 dollars for the lower hg retainer, which was a huge selling point for me. Also, It looks good even without an ak gas tube, which surprised me. I bought the tube when I bought the rail, thinking it would look funny without it. Well, the open space in the front is no big deal. If I hadnt ordered both at the same time, I would still be using the factory tube. For the quality you get and the look you get, this chaos mini is a great deal. I have no regrets. Great job cameron.

nitukamots 19
Just got the rail today Cameron, Nice workmanship, if only the S-12 was done as slick!!! I had to do some fitting of the rail to the gas block, the rail wanted to twist and angled down hill at the muzzle. After some machine work to the gas block, she fits great! time to test fire with the rail on and then take her apart for paint!!
dustindu4 101
Just finished my conversion. Gun looks sick, my only gripe I have about this rail system is that the front rail and top cover aren't totally parallel and looks off. You can see from the pic where I put a line on it to see what I'm talking about Yes the rear sight is on backward in this pic Edited June 5, 2012 by dustindu4

FOURBUX 22
I think the Chaos Titan was what originally made me love the look of the S-12 so much. Great work, Cameron! Since I'm getting fairly close to the "end" of this build, here's mine:
matt s 12
same ol' paint job, but with HK sights - it rules
Goose60 1
Here is my Mak 90 with the new Titan Rail System. Some additional fitment was necessary (as in milling the rear sight block hinge .030 and reducing the height and width of the lower hand guard trunion mount) Well worth the effort! Here is my Saiga 12 as well with the Chaos Rail System
