TR Young 175
I had to travel to PA this week to help my best friend and his wife say good bye to their first born son, Tyler. He succumbed to aplastic anemia at the age of 13 years. He leaves an 8 year old brother and a 5 year old sister, and one very hurt community behind. I would lay down my life for any and all of the members in this family. This is a tough one. Edited October 21, 2009 by tritium

Cobra 76 two 2,677
That is terrible. I'm sorry for your friend's loss. It must be unbearable to lose your own child. As far as perspective goes...having the very real possibility of losing your own life, and having lots of time to think about it....well that can change a person's perspective on a lot of things too, in a big way. Either way...it's very sad to me when any innocent life is lost, no matter what the age. I'll be sure and add you and your friends to my prayers too. This whole praying thing is really new to me, so I hope it does some good.

rocinante 100
My oldest boy just turned 13. I have been severely twisted before but a loss like that would probably just break me totally.
